Friday's Fave Five #161

Yikes, I can't believe it's Friday already.  Where on earth did that week go?  Between Thanksgiving here in Canada, being sick, still working and finding out our carpet is being installed this week and the work of clearing the room that goes with that, the days have just disappeared.  But there is always time to take just a moment of look for special blessing from the week.  Join in with us as we share 5 things we are thankful for from this past week.

1.  Thanksgiving weekend.  I love this holiday.   It brings the family together to share a beautiful meal, fellowship and thankfulness for the blessings in our lives.  The turkey turned out perfect, we shared lots of time and laughter with loved ones, the weather was a gorgeous sunny but crisp day, my oldest arrived here and went back to her city safe and sound.  It couldn't have been better.

2.  Home grown tomatoes that became homemade spaghetti sauce and homemade salsa.  I was blessed with 2 huge boxes of tomatoes.  I made a huge pot of spaghetti sauce that will make 3 yummy meals and enough salsa to fill 6 containers for the freezer.  And I still have half a box left.  The Youngest has requested more homemade spaghetti sauce and I think I will roast some of them like Kathy did.

3.  Hot mint tea to soothe the throat, clear the nose and make me relax.  So nice when I'm not feeling well.

4.  Lots of turkey left overs.  I see turkey soup, turkey pot pie and hot turkey sandwiches coming up.

5.  Care and concern.  Hubby asking each morning how I felt and how the cold was doing.  A small thing but it made me feel his care and lifted me up.

What are your blessings from the past week?  What uplifted you?   Share in a post and sign on up on the Linky.  If you need the guidelines they are here.

Have a great weekend everyone.

So glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving celebration with family (even with the honey-peanut-butter-text mishap). You've made great use of your tomato bounty! Hope all the family love and turkey and tea will get your over your cold.

That's nice that your Thanksgiving is so early and not like in the States so close to Christmas. Of course we don't celebrate any Thanksgiving in Belgium or in Europe, the Turkey comes on the table at Christmas !

Thanksgiving was a beautiful day, weatherwise, wasn't it? I've also included that day in my list.

So sorry you were not feeling well this week. Glad you have a caring hubby to make you feel loved.

I love homemade salsa! I keep meaning to try those roasted tomatoes, too.

I've never had spaghetti sauce made from fresh tomatoes (that I know of anyway!). I bet that was absolutely delicious.

Glad your Thanksgiving went so well. Now you have me looking forward to ours in November.

But sorry you got sick. :-( I pray next week you'll feel totally back to normal.

Sounds like a good week and a challenging week!

Happy Thanksgiving to you again. Glad you had such a great time with your family.

Definitely not any fun to be sick.

But yummy for the homegrown tomatoes! They are nothing like the ones you find in the store! Enjoy!

New carpet! How exciting! It overshadows all the work of getting ready for it to happen!

I'm glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday in spite of your cold. Nothing like a caring hubby, and plenty of leftovers to keep from having to cook!

I'm thankful for you, Susanne, and the Friday's Fave Five group.

How yummy to have home made spaghetti sauce and salsa. I have never made either of those. I received a bag of tomatoes and I am planning on roasting and freezing them too. Unless I eat too many tomato sandwiches. :)

What a caring husband you have. I hope this week finds you feeling MUCH better, Susanne.

Its interesting that both our countries share the same dishes at Thanksgiving.
We have tomatoes still and I'm thinking we'll have to pick all the green ones off later this week. They're talking of frost on Thursday.
I'm glad you're feeling better.
