Friday Fave Five 4

Welcome to Friday Fave Five. If you want to know the details about it, it's all very simple, really. Here's the explanation in the beginning of this post. Please feel free to join in. Don't forget to link here and to sign yourself to Mr. Linky. Please link directly to your Friday Fave Five post and not just your home page. It makes it easier for reader's when looking a few days after the fact.

1. One of the cutest food things I have ever seen. Cream cheese penguins. Aren't they just awesome? Can you imagine them on your Christmas appetizer table or for a winter potluck?Love it. Of course, I had to immediately email Beck and let her know, because, you know she's actually going to make them instead of just admiring them in a picture like certain people. Ahem.

2. My latest addiction. I'm telling you I cannot get enough of this site since Jule's linked us to it. I registered with them because you can keep a favorites list going which my computer is very grateful for because there is no way I could have kept all those recipes in my own file on my desktop. Even if you hate to cook, you'll be addicted to all the lovely food pictures. I am on here constantly, perusing, drooling, planning. Definitely and totally delicious for both eyes and tastebuds.

3. Unlimited texting packages. I don't know who I was trying to kid when I only ordered the $3/30 free texts a day plan the week before Kay moved. What was I thinking? That's only one text a day for heaven's sakes. But unlimited? Now we're talking! Literally!

4. This new product I found over at Grey Like Snuffies. I've always felt sorry for declawed kitties. Now how smart is this? And it comes in fashion colors too! Think Muffin will go for the sky blue?

I don't know. Doesn't look like she's too impressed.

5. Favorite moment of the week? When Kay phoned home long distance to find out how to cook chicken drumsticks. My heart sang. I know, I know. It's silly. But it just gave me warm fuzzies on different levels. She phoned. To ask how to cook. To ask my advice. On cooking. Something she has so not been interested in before. And at the very least, I know she's eating more than take out or KD. Yup, definitely for the fave list! And then the next day, she wants to know what to do with brown bananas! Oh my word. As I type they are at the store getting the ingrediants they didn't have to make "Monkey Bars". Does a mother's heart good.

So what are your favorite things from this last week? I'd love for you to join in. Just do your own post with a link over to here and add yourself to Mr. Linky. I will be getting a button pretty soon so you'll be able to grab that too. I'd love to come read your post on what tickled your fancy this past week.

I don't know what happened to Mr. Linky. I set it to autopost and Mr. Linky didn't make it. But it's up now. Sorry about that.

These are fantastic faves, Susanne! The penguins are almost too cute to eat. One day, your Kay may even move from drumsticks to olive penguins :-) And those soft claw things? I'd rescued a stray and a friend had adopted her and put these things on her. They don't stay on long but they sure are cute. Happy Friday :-)

Thanks so much for sharing. I agree with the texting thing. I am so slow, but will soon have to go to unlimited when she moves to college.

OOohh...I LOVE your number 2. Thanks for sharing that website!!
I agree with the texting....we are thinking of getting unlimited because this really is the preferred way to talk with teens...or at least the preferred way she wants to talk with me sometimes! LOL

Gosh if it makes you feel any better I didn't even know you could set Mr. Linky to auto-post...lol.

I love that Kay called you, I'm sure she will be doing plenty more of that. Maybe for Christmas you could do her one of those Tastebooks with all the family favorite recipes.

I didn't play this week, was having trouble coming up with 5 things silly me! Need a more positive attitude I think!
Oh my gosh on your #2 food gawker thing! Never seen that but I think I could get addicted to it. And I know what you mean about them calling home and how good that is for you; it's a nice thing!

I love it . . .

And I'm not so sure that's good.

Wow, the pictures on the food website are amazing! They even make a beetroot smoothie look good - I mean *seriously* beets...yuck!

I remember calling my mom when I first moved out on my own. If your daughter is anything like me I'm sure it won't be your last food phone call.

The Penguins are adorable! I'd like to do those for my great grandkids at Thanksgiving time.

Those penguins are ADORABLE. I am TOTALLY going to make them, of course! I will add them to my first snow of winter menu. (right now: snowman cake and sloppy joes that look like snowmen. Penguins are needed.)

oh wow, I loved the penguins!!

I don't know about the kitty nail covers, I would think they would come off. Let us know how it goes...

Thos Soft Paws are the strangest looking things, but you know that's really a very good idea. When we had cats, they were indoor cats and we always had them declawed. This sounds a lot more humane.

Don't you love it that she's calling for cooking help? I think one of the biggest things both my girls learned when they were living off campus in their own apartments was how to cook. Before you know it, you'll be asking HER how to make something.

How fun. I just added my fave five ... a couple days late. I also added a text package to my phone. It's so nice to text-without-guilt. Whew!

I'm no Beck, but Amanda is a penguin FREAK, so I might have to make these.

I am SO making those penguins! I don't have texting on my phone, but as soon as The Girl is on the family plan, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be adding that to our phones!
