Friday's Fave Five #739

Welcome to Friday's Fave Five.  This week has flown by.  It started with a very busy weekend and has just stayed busy all week.  I'm glad that I have FFF to remind me to take that pause and look for and be thankful for those blessings God has granted me during the week.  Please join in and share five of your favorite blessings.

~ 40th Anniversary ~ Sunday Hubby and I celebrated our 40th Anniversary.  What a milestone I never imagined I would get to because in my younger mind that was just hard to believe that I would actually live that long.  Ha!  But here we are and I am very grateful for the man God gave me.  Sure there have been some tough times over the years but I am thankful we stuck with it and I can share life with him.

~ celebrating weekend ~ Saturday our son and his lovely girlfriend came down for the weekend and Sunday our youngest daughter also joined us to celebrate their Dad for Father's Day.  Because it was also our anniversary and because his girlfriend had never been there, we wanted to go one of our favorite family places in the mountains.  It turned out to be a colder, windy and scattered shower kind of day but it was still nice to get away and do some trails and enjoy each other.  Tamara treated us to a village favorite of gourmet hot dogs  for lunch for Father's Day and Jeremy took us all out for dinner when we got home for a combo Father's Day and Anniversary treat.  It was a wonderful day.  We just missed our oldest daughter but she lives too far to just come for a weekend.

~gift from the garden ~ my neighbor and friend showed up at my door this week bearing this beautiful bouquet of peonies from her garden.  They were huge and stunning and so fragrant.  What a sweet and thoughtful gesture that made my day especially since I have not gotten any flowers from my peony bush this year.

~ this plant ~ for the life of me I can't find the tag to this plant so don't know what it's called anymore but it's a real testament to what happens when you don't dig things up every other year and just let things grow. LOL.  If you know me I'm notorious for being impatient and not letting things grow in their original location.  But this one I left alone.  It is really getting stunning.  Each leaf  is at least 12 - 13 inches in length on the bigger bottom clusters.  I just love it.  Now if I could just remember the name.  Anyone know?

~ color! ~ I am loving the color combo in these two smaller pots on my front steps!  Flowers and all the colors are such a blessing to me and a great stress release!  I am thankful for God's glorious gift of nature and eyes that can see and enjoy them!

What blessings have you noticed and been grateful for this past week?

Happy anniversary! I don't know what that plant is but it sure is interesting. Maybe post again when it flowers and someone will be able to identify it.

Another great week for you filled with family and fun and flowers!

That blue sky behind the waterfalls is lovely. Great photo of you all. (I couldn't figure out which girl was Tamara!).

And HAPPY 40th ANNIVERSARY!!! GREAT pic of the two of you, too. Our 33rd is next Friday. It's amazing how we've made it this far.....it's God.....because without Christ as our third cord member we'd be lost for sure. Marriages are being divided so often in this nation......I"m thankful yours has endured.

My peonies did great this year but they sure didn't last long...not even a month! I managed to bring two good bouquets of them into the house though for the kitchen counter. Yours are lovely.

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Happy, happy anniversary! That's so neat that most of your kids could come for it.

What a lovely gift of the peonies. I am so thankful for flowers, too. They're a big part of my favorite things about spring and summer. I like combinations of plants in planters, too.

I don't know what the one plant is, but there is an app called Picture this with which you can scan a plant, and it will tell you what it is and how to care for it.

Congratulations to your 40th wedding anniversary ! You thought you wouldn't live that long, I thought when we celebrated our 50th that I never would have believed to stay with the same man for such a long time, lol ! This year it would have been 54 ! How nice that you celebrated together and that you neighbor brought you flowers !

What a delight to have two of your three children with you to celebrate.
Oh I love your flowers! Now, I am going to plan red and pink flowers for next year! Peonies are just the most beautiful blooms, too!

Google lens says it's rodgersia pinnata (go to Google search, click on the icon that kinda looks like a camera focus screen, drop in a screenshot of your photo = google tries to find matches).

Happy 40th Anniversary indeed! What a nice gift of your kids to visit and treat you to fun meals.

Love the plants you've put together for your porch planters. Did your geraniums bloom yet? Those peonies look like itoh variety that tend to do better in our warmer climate. They look glorious in yours!
