Simple Woman's Daybook 4/2/2013

Joining in with others at the Simple Woman's Daybook.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...  A little cloudy, a little breezy though the prediction is for an above normal temperature day.  Yesterday we were the hot spot of Canada with a downright balmy, fairly sunny day of 10*C (50*F).  I'll take it!

I am thinking... I need to get the kids outside today for sure, before the nice weather disappears for another bout of winter!

I am thankful... for small things like a good haircut.  Very much needed and appreciated this weekend.

In the kitchen (for the week) ... spaghetti and meatballs/tossed salad, Serbian Ground Beef, Broccoli Quinoa Casserole with Chicken added, Beef Stroganoff/noodles/mixed veggies, Honey Garlic Sausages/Baked Potatoes/carrots

I am creating... valentines craft ideas for dayhome

I am going... be leading ladies bible study for the next 5 weeks.  Eek!

I am wondering...  if I bit off more than I can chew with the above

I am reading... Stardust by Carla Stewart (one of my favorite authors)

I am hoping... the roads are good up north.  Son is working waaaay up in the Northwest section of the province.

I am looking forward to... Seeing Life of Pi 3D on the weekend

I am learning... to give confusion and disappointment over to God instead of constantly rehearsing it to myself.

Around the house... hubby is replacing our very old baseboards and door frames.  Amazing how that kind of stuff can make a huge difference in updating an old house.

I am pondering... the following quote:
"Faith is about submission and trust, not about will and determination"
David Megill
The Hidden Life
pg 89

One of my favorite things... watching uplifting movies with a strong moral message

A few plans for the rest of the week: not much, a very routine week coming up.  Aren't I exciting?

Good quote! We are going through some of Romans at church right now and about living free. One of the interesting things said we can't make our lives a DIY project. It's more about abiding in vine...

We're in the 50s this week after having cold and snow last week. I don't mind at all! It does sound like a good week to take kids outside.

I don't think I've heard of Carla Stewart, but I like the cover of that book.

What you have under "learning" is one of the hardest things to learn. I keep having to relearn it.

A good haircut! Yes, I love that, too. Can make such a difference for me (whether it should or not, it does, ha).

I'm sure you'll do a great job leading your bible study. You go!

I want to see The Life of Pi. I read the book awhile back and it was very curious, so I can't really imagine how they did the movie, but I want to find out.

Those non-eventful weeks are some of my favorites. :-) Enjoy yours.

Its all relative, isn't it? When we lived in Pennsylvania, we thought a 40 degree day was warm....I think it probably got up near 60 here today...
I'm hoping to see Life of Pi when it comes to the $1 theater, it is no longer on at the bigger ones.
Enjoyed reading your daybook.
