Friday's Fave Five #162

Welcome to Friday's Fave Five.  It's Friday so that makes it time to look back over our week and look for those things we are grateful for.  It may be big or it may be small and you have to dig for it, but there are always things we can be thankful for.  Please join us as we share our favorite five.  If you need the guidelines they are here.

Here's is mine in no particular order:

1.  Coming home to a clean kitchen courtesy of my 16 year old girl.  On the night I had our bible study, I came home to find the kitchen beautifully spotless, including a washed floor thanks to my girl.  What a blessing that was!

2.  Smooth day with the dayhome during carpet installation day.  It's interesting working at home, especially when it involves 6 pre-schoolers and a day of carpet installation.  Though we were forced downstairs for the whole day, they were good as gold and the day went very smoothly, all things considered.

3.  A second coat of paint finally on the my living room walls.  With the furniture all out of the way I took the  opportunity to get that second coat of paint on the walls that were waiting oh, for about a year.

4.  Comfy duvets and duvet covers.  With the nights get colder, some of which have dropped below freezing, that big comfy duvet and it's covers are always one of my favorite simple things in the fall.

5.  Shared information.  One of my favorite things about blogging is things that we learn from each other.  Tips, recipes, and sometimes important information like this post by 4everMom.  If you or your children have a smartphone, please take a moment to read her post and watch the short video clip.   Some really important info and a really good tip at the end.  I have a smart phone and I had no idea.  Until now.  An informed consumer is a smart and safe consumer.

What have been your faves this week?  Please link up if you've shared in a post.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

What a lovely gift of your girl to clean your kitchen. New carpet and paint on the walls (better late than never, right?) sound great.

I love snuggling under the warm covers during autumn and winter--aren't flannel sheets the BEST?

May I borrow your daughter just one night a week?? Kudos to her for serving you and the rest of her family like that.

I see it is everywhere the same. Mothers are thankful that their child has cleaned up the kitchen. I had a friend she had to do it everyday her mother cooked and then was far too lazy to clean. Helping was something normal. My mother fortunately had a bad opinion of me concerning cleaning so she wouldn't let me clean ! Very practical, lol !
But that was another generation. We payed our son for mowing the lawn which in fact he used too !

There's something revitalizing about clean and new surroundings. Your daughter is a good example for others her age. I'm gonna show this to extended family living with us at home :D

I can't imagine getting new flooring with little ones all around. You must be extremely organized, Susanne!

I'm off to read that post by 4everMom. Sounds interesting. Hope you have a great fall week!

You must be so proud of your family. They are so loving and thoughtful. You've definitely done a great job creating a home filled with love--it shows.

Last night I was a bit cold, time for us to put on our duvet. They do feel wonderful, don't they?

Thanks for passing on my link. I think it's information everyone should know.

Love snuggling under the covers on a frosty night!

Good for your girl! Nothing like coming home to a sparkling kitchen. Plus new carpet and paint - everything would feel fresh and clean.

Hope you have a great weekend Susanne! Thanks for hosting xo

I think I need your daughter at our house. What a lovely surprise to come home to. And I sure agree with you....it's so nice to cozy up under thick covers on a frosty night now, isn't it. Have a great week.

The best fav was your 16 year old daughter cleaning the kitchen for you. What a sweetheart. Now that's what a call a great moment.

Glad to hear your carpet installation went well. I can only imagine how that was with a bunch of preschoolers.

I am in the market for a new Duvet so it's back to Bed, Bath and Beyond.

What a blessing to come home to a clean kitchen, even washed floors!

Glad everything went ok with the children during the carpet installation. Good thinking to do the painting while everything was out of the room.

I don't have a smart phone but have been promised one when mine comes due for an upgrade. I'll have to remember to come back and look at that -- or look at it later this weekend for future reference.

How sweet of your daughter to clean the kitchen for you! Wow, new carpet, new paint, and a clean kitchen. Almost as good as getting a whole new house! :)

A fresh coat of paint sure brightens up a place and makes it seem all clean and new. I hope I get around to that to-do project soon. So glad you got your room painted and carpet put in AND before the Christmas holiday season!

What a blessing that your day-home kiddos handled the carpet installation so well. You must have prepared well for that day.
