It's Raining, It's Pouring

It's been raining, raining and raining here.  There were big plans afoot to go buy my flowers this weekend, trim my cedar bushes and at least dig up my flower beds in prep to plant my flowers.  But the weather had other plans.  I still was able to go however, and spend way too much money, once again, on bedding out plants.  Funny how rain does not get in the way of money flying out of pocket.  I go with such good intentions of keeping it minimal and then I get in there and see all the loveliness and before I know it, the cart is full and the register is ringing.  And I'm still fighting with myself not to go back to Costco and get a certain pot that I've had my eye on. Sigh.  For someone who doesn't have a green thumb at all, it's really quite pathetic.

The flip side of all the rain is that there was lots of reading and coffee time.  Which I will never turn down.  I was looking forward to getting all caught up on blog reading and visiting.  I was however, shut down.  Locked out.  Blogger's back is turned to me.  I cannot comment for the third day now.  Is anyone else having this issue or am I the only one who's being shunned?  Sigh, it's like being back in high school.

I haven't (to my knowledge) had this issue, but I relate to buying and buying even when I plan not to and not having a green thumb. :) Sadly, I relate to the endless rain as well.

Enjoy the beauty while it lasts.

I don't have a green thumb, either, but I've been wanting to get a few plants in.

It's been an exceptionally rainy year so far, here, too, but since it is our first year I'm not sure whether that's the norm.

Are you having trouble commenting in general or just on Blogger blogs? I haven't had any trouble so far.

I haven't had a problem with blogger this week, but a week or so ago it was shut down for me.

I could have written your first paragraph. I am terrible about overbuying plants. Same here, I make a list of what to plant, then go to the greenhouse and the list goes out the window. Buy the pot at Costco! Maybe it's the same as mine and we can be twins (again).

It is raining like crazy today. I'm getting so sick of it. At least the weather was good for my son's graduation party on Saturday. It rained all last week. I'm ready for summer!

I've had endless rain, too. :(

I love buying bedding plants, but alas, do NOT have a green thumb. I pretty much content myself by buying pots of flowers and begging my husband to water them for me ...

we have had a LOT of rain here in my section of New York state...UGH....i also had plans for the weekend and we had to dash between rain showers to get stuff done...i am way behind on getting flowers in....although the ones i've started from seeds in pots are doing well...lots of green there altho they are a bit waterlogged! lol...certainly has been a wet spring...am hoping for a dry hot sunny summer!!!!

We are expecting more rain too. Several days of it in fact.
I sure know what you mean about spending so much on plants. It's shocking how fast it all adds up. I didn't get nearly as much this year. Prices have jumped up so I thought better to cut back.
I used to have a green thumb but with age it's sort of dried up. My daughter however has two of them.

My day is fast approaching when I will spend far more than I plan on bedding plants. Of course, I have an excuse.....a wedding in my yard this summer - must have lots of flowers for decoration, after all. I just wish I actually enjoyed making them grow.

We had one day of steady rain although the sun has not exactly come out from behind the clouds today.

No problem with Blogger for me (knock on wood)
