Friday's Fave Five #90

*Updated below*
Welcome to Friday's Fave Five. Please join us in looking for our favorite moments and blessings from our weeks. Your can get more details here if you are new. Then just join right in and link up.

1. This video:

2. American Idol Finale.
What a great couple of hours of music. And how much fun to see all the winners from over the years. Hubby and I were cracking up over how much older the featured top bands and singers had gotten , such as Alice Cooper, Hall & Oates, Bee Gees, and Michael McDonald that were singing their big hits mostly from the '70's. Until we realized, hey. they were from our era. Suddenly we felt really old. LOL.

3. Friends who are there for you, ready with the chip and dip, a movie and a sympathetic ear when you need them. Over the years I've come to really value true friendships, the deep ones, not surface shallow ones. But ones where you are there for each other even if you are not able to see each other regularly, the kind where there is a non-judgemental shoulder to cry on yet words of truth may be spoken in love. I have a couple of friends like that and they are better than gold.

4. Funny things kids say. This week it just seems that my dayhome kids are were on a roll with one liners. Little kids crack me right up with some of the things they say.

5. French fries. Burger King french fries to be exact. Sorry McD fans but I love the BK ones better. :v)

*Update*: Okay, so now that I have a wonderful little debate on who has the better fries going in the comment section, I am so going to throw a monkey wrench into the whole thing, and change my answer. Just because I'm a woman. And I can. And it's my blog. LOL. I totally forgot about Costco's food court fries. Now they put McD and BK to shame! How could I ever forget about Costco's fries. Dipped in mayo. There you go, now keep debating away! :v)

Oh and by the way, I don't eat fries often, but it doesn't mean I don't dream about crave them. It's a rare treat. Hmmm, I mentioned chips and dip too, didn't I? It's looking like I have an obsession with the fried potato in any form, doesn't it? Oh dear. That is not good news for my hips.

What were your favorite things from your week? Join us in looking for those blessings whether they be obvious or ones you have to look for. Let's find them and share them.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Susanne, I agree that kids 'say the darnedest things'. (BTW, did you hear that Ark Linkletter passed away this week?) Every week there's some comment from my students that cracks me up.

Fries? Love em! Don't eat 'em! I wish I could...

Have a happy weekend!

Oh, I hope you and Willow will do a post on the funny things you gear kids say. Fries are on my list of faves too, though I love sweet potato fries :-) Happy weekend, Susanne!

#3 was very important for me too this week. It's just wonderful to know you have a real friend there for you when you need her!

Have a wonderful weekend Susanne!

I eat the fries so infrequently that I couldn't tell the difference. And, I didn't watch A.I. this season. I don't like Kara and I miss Paula. But, I always love the things kids say. I just love the way they think.
Have a great weekend!

oh yes...children say the darndest things!! I should have kept a journal from all the years of teaching prek special needs kids...they would come out with some good ones! :)

Fries.....don't eat them any longer....but...I always liked the McD ones better...and I worked at BK back in my early 20's while subbing in the NYS Valley area just after college. never liked their fries!

have a great weekend!!

I like your fave five, and I love the part about friendship. I know what you mean about the deep ones, the friends that are there for you even if you don't see each other regularly. I value those too.

Oh, those golden friends! I know just what you mean. I have a couple I can go a year without seeing, and we talk like we saw each other yesterday.

You really should post on your dayhome kids' sweet comments!

Happy weekend!

I'm with you on friends - nothing like them. No comparison.

BK fries? How about handcut ones Suzanne - especially sweet potato fries. Ooh yum!

Yes save up your funniest funnies and do a FF on that. It would be hilarious.

Love the video too

Happy weekend!

That video is so refreshing...I just attended a funeral where not even the name God was mentioned. You preach it sista'
What would we do without those friends? I agree they are such a blessing.

I don't know if you have "Five Guys" chains up your way but their fries are the absolute best. And their hamburgers are fantastic, too. I always eat my fries the way I learned to eat them in Germany -- dipping them in mayo. Horrible for the arteries but so yummy!

How timely to come up with #4 with Art Linkletter passing away this week. If you don't remember Art Linkletter you are not as old as me for sure!
I just saw part of the finale but it really was a packed show. It amazes me how fast and clear that gal can speak and put that message together like that....fabulous. Have a great weekend.

For some reason that video won't load for me.

I think I live Burger King fries better too. But I In N Out Burgers are the very best!

Nice to have friends. . .

I love hearing the things little kids come up with. I tried to write some of them down when my kids were little, but couldn't keep up ...

Friends that are there for you even if you can't spend all your time with them are really one of God's greatest blessings to us!

Hey, I like Burger King's Zesty sauce to dip my fries in!

That video was neat!

If I ever see you in "real life," I'll bring chips and dip. :-)

I'd love a post on funny things kids say. I so wish I had written down the things my own kids said when they were little.

It's so funny how people's preferences differ. I like McDonald's and Wendy's fries. We don't eat at BK much )except I love their ham and cheese croisanwiches and Cini-minis for breakfast), but if we do go there, I prefer their onion rings to their fries.

BK fries are better. McD's changed theirs at some point. I used to love Wendy's, but they have declined.
Sad that I am an expert on fries!

It's sad that I'm an expert on fries, too. Eat way too many. But, I choose "Checkers" as having the best fast-food fries around here.

Yes, friends. Can never have too many godly friends!

I almost didn't participate in FFF this week because it's been such a hard week. But as I was thinking about things I could have chosen had I participated, I decided it was really quite an amazing week after all! God is good! Thanks for hosting us each week so faithfully.

Hi Susanne, I'm afraid I need to join in your food debate and set everyone straight because it seems you have it all wrong. Yes, that's right! The best fries would be the ones from Steak N' Shake, not sure if you have those in Canada. Their fries are long and thin and crispy, just the perfect thing to go with a club sandwich. :D

Hope you have a great weekend!

I completely agree on the friends comment.

I, too, like BK fries, but I also think the fresh cut ones made at Penn Station are pretty fabulous...along with the waffle fries from Chik-fil-A.

Kids and their sayings are some of life's best joys

As for fries...Wendy's are the best fast food fries - Costco's are good, but a little 'different'.

Your description of a good friend is perfect! I have one like that and I treasure her greatly.

Well my post is up. Better late than never! I love that video. I posted it on my blog a while back after my husband emailed it to me one day! Great message with a fun delivery!

had many other things going on and couldn't get started any earlier.
it sounds like you've had a great week, for sure and lots of people coming to share

Suzanne - how about another update. I heard rumours that you got snow yesterday?? Is that true? Oh. dear. It's taking things a little too far don't you think?

Ah ... here would we be without our friends? Um ... just reading your 'addendum about fries' and the comments here has made my mouth water ... it's been so long since I've eaten a french fry I have no clue whose are best and I had no clue Costco SOLD fries ... seriously! Sorry to be a day late ... such is the way of my life ;-)
Hugs and blessings,

Kids really do say the darnedest things LOL

I enjoyed the American Idol Finale, not just because Lee was my fave LOL But I don't think I'll watch next year with Simon gone.
