Yesterday was a gorgeous, downright balmy, warm, go without a coat 16*C (60*F) day. Biking, walks, playing catch in the school yard and yard work was the order of the day for many in the neighborhood. Then by early evening the light spring rain came washing away the dirt from the winter and the dust that blew in with all the wind we'd been having. It smelled so good.
And then this morning a reminder of where I live, all while we slept in innocence of what the dawn was bringing, this is what we woke up too:
The 2 beautiful days were no dream. They really did happen. Welcome to Spring, Alberta style!

Brrr!
This post made me smile because even though it's a bit colder up there where you live, the beginning of spring here is always unpredictable too...and last year we indeed had a snowstorm on the first day of spring!
Oh dear! I was so excited for you, 60F and sunshine, and then I scrolled down and saw the snow.
Love your weather. LOL! I like snow, but I am ready for SPRING and warm weather and barefeet and snoozing on the deck in the sun.
I'm in Nevada and it snowed here this morning and thought it's Spring...this isn't suppose to happen. Makes me glad I live in Honolulu. Nice picture. I do like the snow in pictures I must say :)
Sounds just like Chicago, you never know when the snow "really" is going to end....but thankfully it does.
I'm sure you'll be thrilled to see that snow melt away!
Oh my Susanne.I hope that your spring is around the corner! Mind you it's supposed to snow here on Monday.
Oh my. I'm glad you had a couple days of Spring, hope more is coming soon :0)
You know, Susanne, I was reading your first two paragraphs thinking you were either in denial or deep sarcasm because that frosty photo that followed....
I was getting happy for you and then I saw that photo...what a letdown LOL
We have back-and-forth weather in early spring, too -- but not to those extremes!! I'm sure you'll be glad when the snow is gone for this season.
If it's any consolation, it showed on Easter Sunday a couple of years ago IN TEXAS!!!!
There are many more beautiful days in your near future. And I didn't even have to look into my crystal ball to figure that one out!
That's exactly what's happened where I live too, Susanne. Two days of beautiful spring weather and now all of a sudden, it's gray and rainy and cold. No snow, though. But I'm appreciating these last little bursts of cooler weather because once spring turns into summer. Mother Nature shows us no mercy!
Oh brrr! I hope it's better by now!
