Word for the Weekend

"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen alseep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words."
1 Thesslonians 4:13 - 18

That's just so timely for me, Susanne! It's always been one of my favorites, too.

I love this part of Scripture- so much promise for us.

I used to picture Jesus arriving during the day or morning. Now I picture Him coming in the dark at night, and then all is bright at once. Either way, I'm ready. I'm so glad I can say that.

Beautiful scripture,Susanne! I love how you emphasize God's Word on your blog. Thank you for doing that!

I'm not sure where to ut this, but I thought you would for sure see it here. The paint color is Sherwin Williams kinetic khaki...but this was painted 5 years ago...I'm not sure if the colors have changed by name or not. A SW store would probably know which color it is. It is a nice warm taupe in person which looks nice with our ivory trim. Hope that helps!

I am so thankful that we do not have to live as one who "has no hope"

The older I get, the more hope in Christ means. And I'm like Melanie, wondering what it will be like. I used to be so afraid when I was younger--not anymore.

Very timely for me, too, Susanne. I can't imagine anything more hopeful than this scripture.

I've been hearing about Michael the archangel in my Daniel study, wonder if it's the same one?

Such a tremendous promise!
It was a great comfort to me when I lost my dad years ago, and my special grandmother.
