I am not a barley fan. Is there something else I can subsitute? I like crock pot recipes.

Sounds good; I've got to use my barley I bought and I keep putting it off! Maybe next week.

Boy, Susanne. This sounds really good. I love barley in soup. I haven't cooked with it in ages but this sure looks easy. I'm printing this one out. I'm tickled to have new recipes to make in my slow cooker. It's one of my favorite ways to cook. Thanks for sharing this.

Yum, this sounds good! I have a beef and barley soup I make that is similiar, except it uses quick-cook barley. I wonder, is the regular pearl barley a lot healthier than the quick-cook version?!

Thanks for sharing!
