September Reading Possibilites

August saw me finishing 3 1/2 books.  I had yet another DNF (did not finish) book.  This one was at 198 pages, hence the 1/2 book, and I'm totally counting it in my read books numbers.  That's a lot of pages not to count.  I should have stopped sooner but I kept thinking it would progress into something better but unfortunately it didn't for me.

September's Read Your Shelf Challenge prompt has once again been a dud for what I have on hand.  It is to "Read a Collection".  I don't read collections.  Of any kind.  So once again I'm making up my own prompt to get me through books that are in my piles.  So I picked 4 books from my newest purchases (on the left) and 4 books from my older purchases (on the right).  And a non-fiction that is a recent purchase that I really want to get into.  I like to underline and annotate non-fictions so that is why I bought that one instead of borrowing it and I really liked the last book I read from this author.

I'm currently reading a powerful book i think i saw on your blog once: The Mountains Sing an historical fiction book about Viet Nam and told in the granddaughter's voice. (most of it so far anyways). I'm also continuing the Christian non fiction book about women in Christian history (one entry per evening) and i'm starting to re read What's So Amazing About Grace because dave and I are coleading a small group every other friday evening and that is the book we chose.
i'm also going to read Verity by Colleen Hoover that a friend leant me because the library wait list for it is up to like 110 people! I'l probably also look for the 2nd Hanna Svenson mysteries too next time i'm at library. oh and i'm reading the book of psalms this fall.

I just recently saw The Book Woman's daughter was out. I look forward to hearing from you whether it's as good as the first book.

I wonder what's the difference between a collection and a series? I guess a collection would include more of an author's works.

I'm currently reading a book called Essentialism by Greg McKeown--not something that I would normally pick up, but I saw an interview with him that sparked interest in his book. I'm also reading a book by Roseanna M. White titled The Lost Heiress. It sounds like a fluff read, but she brings so much depth to any story.

Hi Susanne. I have already complete two audiobooks, which I started in August - Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst and Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup. Both were good. Now I am listening to the audio of Enemies of the Heart by Andy Stanley. I needed a break from some of the intense crime suspense mysteries I sometimes read, so I am going easy with an Amish cozy mystery, which I am enjoying. You will have to tell me how you like The Book Woman's Daughter. That is on my to read list for sure. See again tomorrow for FFF.
