Friday's Fave Five #610

Welcome to another Friday and another day to look back over the week and find those blessings that God has brought into our lives.  Please join us and share five of your favorites.

~ simple recipes ~ found a super simple chicken recipe that will make be a keeper.  It took minutes to put together and was delicious.

Melt in Your Mouth Chicken

5-6 chicken breast
1 cup mayo
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp seasoning salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Preheat oven to 375*F.  Mix ingredients all ingredients except chicken.  Place chicken breasts on greased baking sheet.  Spread mayo mixture evenly onto the chicken.  Bake for 45 mins.

That's it.  Easy peasy.  Everyone loved it.  And that makes it a favorite.

~ consideration ~ we had a crazy blizzard here over the weekend.  So crazy that the school district actually called a snow day for Monday on Sunday night.  If you know our school district it's got to be bad if they call a snow day and usually they hum and haw about it right up until some students have already arrived at school and then have to turn around and go home.  So for them to call it Sunday night?  It was bad.  Anyway, I didn't close.  But I had a wonderful parent who after they dropped the child off texted me back and said that if he was the only one to not hesitate to call them and they'd come back and pick him up so I could have a snow day too.  Turns out he wasn't the only one who came but I really appreciated the consideration.

~ hot tea on cold, blustery nights ~ a hot cup of herbal tea has hit the spot after dinner on these cold nights.  I also find it helps to keep me from munching.  The favorite this week has been peppermint.  I love peppermint tea.

~ winter tires ~  we never used to purchase winter tires before but when we got our new to us car in February it came with winter tires.  In this last storm, I really noticed the difference it makes.  Thankful to have them this year.

~ heated steering wheel ~   this is a totally spoiled thing but boy I sure am loving it.  The feature came with the car, it's not something we sought out, but for someone who always has cold hands in the car in the winter and now add aching hands from carpal tunnel and probably a bit of arthritis and over use from lifting kids all the time and that heated steering wheel feels oh, so good.

What have been your favorite blessings this week?

We had snow Halloween weekend but it’s been in the 60 and 70s since then. Very unusual for us. I think it’s going to cool off to more normal temperatures now though. A heated steering wheel sounds so wonderful!!

November is the worst month for me ! We don't really need winter tires it doesn't snow that much maybe in the Ardennes. The cars are usually delivered with "all year around" tires, so it's OK for winter and summer.

That was so sweet of the parents to offer to give you a snow day!!
What a blessing you are to the working moms and dads in keeping your day care open!
I've been enjoying mandarin mimosa herbal tea this week. Just discovered it!
That chicken recipe is so similar to on ei make for oven baked chicken! I use vegan hellmanns and with the garlic i also add dried basil and oregano. So yummy!!

Hi Susanne. We have a heated steering wheel, as well as heated seats in our new car and it is wonderful on a cold morning. So glad your day home parents are considerate. That chicken recipe sounds great. I am going to give it a try. Have a good weekend!

I love simple recipes. I am making note of this one!

When my kids were in school, I always appreciated knowing the night before if school was going to close for weather the next morning. That was really nice of the one family to offer to pick up their child so you could have a day off.

Nice to have the winter tires, especially in an area that snows so much.

One of my husband's former cars had heated seats. For some reason, I didn't like them--they were disturbing to me. But he loved them. Heated steering wheels would be lovely. Too bad they can't find a way to cool them in the summer.

What a thoughtful parent. It makes you want to care for his child.
Now I wish I had a heated steering wheel. And heated seats. I always have cold hands too.
May this weekend and coming week be free of snowstorms!

Sometimes it's just the little things (like the tyres and steering wheel) that make such a big difference. That sounds a great easy recipe which I will definitely be trying out. Thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend Susanne.

A heated steering wheel sounds wonderful. It would be nice to have one that cools in the summer, too! The recipe sounds great, I'm going to share it with my son-in-law who is just learning to cook. I wonder if it could be done in a crock pot?

Yum, that recipe sounds delicious. How very considerate of that client. We were sad we didn't add a heated steering wheel to our latest car. At least we have the heated seats! Have a wonderful weekend.
