Welcome to Friday's Fave Five. Warming our hearts with intentionally looking for blessings and being grateful. And I need all the warming I can get. It's been a chilly February for sure, the coldest in 83 years in my city to be exact. Brrrr. I am so ready for spring and warmer weather with some sunshine!! Please join us in looking back over the week and sharing 5 of the blessings God has graced us with.
~ Minimalist Game success! ~ If you're not sure what this is, here is my post about it yesterday. I am so excited to have conquered this challenge! When I first started I never thought I would actually complete it but thought I'd just go as far as I could. Much to my surprise I did it and I had fun. I am no minimalist but definitely have wanted to do a good declutter. Now I'm loving the results and will probably keep going. I'm sure there is more now that I'm motivated. I even did books, y'all! Books. And if you know me, that in itself is a miracle.
~ birthday celebrations ~ Sunday we took Hubby's sister and brother in law out to celebrate her birthday. She loves buffets so we took her to a really wonderful one we have discovered. The food was excellent and the company fun. We were having such a great visit we didn't even realize we were the last left and we closed the place down. And best of all was celebrating a great lady.
~ women who support each other ~ I love when women draw together and in spite of circumstances stand together and lift up another. I experienced a lovely moment this week and it was humbling and made me proud to be part of a wonderful group of women
~ laughter ~ how I love to laugh and there were some wonderful moments throughout the week with the dayhome kids, family and at the gym. Laughter is good medicine.
~ supper cooked by my girl ~ The other day my daughter asked if she could make supper. I said no. Are you kidding me? Of course I said YES, PLEASE!! She made really delicious stuffed peppers and salad. It was a really nice break not to have to worry about what to cook for supper and then rush to get it made.
What were your favorite blessings this week?

Ok so our weeks were a bit similar!!! Although i forgot to mention that Courtney cooked dinner for us Saturday evening while we attended the 5 pm church service because the next morning freezing rain was predicted. Isn't it wonderful to have young adult children who are willing to cook for us?
Yay for the minimalist game. We did that while i was on break and it felt good! Congrats!
How fun to go out with your sister in law and celebrate her birthday.
And praise God for women in our lives who support, encourage and pray for us and with us. There's nothing like it.
I hope you have a warmer weekend!
Well that sounds like a good week despite the weather. We're opposites there - we've had the highest temps for February this year since they started keeping records.
The minimalist project sounds so cool! I want to give it a go, once I get back on my feet. Good times with family are so precious, and one of the favorites that I love hearing about. The sisterhood that can exist among women's groups is so special indeed. And your daughter sounds like a special young woman:)
Sounds like a wonderful week. How nice to enjoy your sister-in-law's birthday together with some great fellowship. Laughter is such good medicine! Love the photo of the 4 of you! Yippee for daughter offering to cook you a meal. I'll have to check out your minimalist post! It's a decluttering miracle when we can let books go... :)
How wonderful to get a break from dinner making! And freely offered by your daughter, too :-)
Congrats again on having vacated 465+ items from your home! I do like the smaller scope to allow a certain amount of accomplishment whatever the available time.
What a fun time you and your family must've had at that buffet. The setting looks nice, too.
I've followed minimalist blogs for many years. The minimalist game started, I think, with The Minimalists. One of my fave minimalist blogs is Becoming Minimalist. I read your blog post--way to go! I'll go back and and listen to the video.
I confess that I pulled up a map last week and checked out where all the Alberta cities are after you wrote that you lived west of Medicine Hat. (I also was tempted to say that the guy in the background of your photo in the buffet restaurant was my brother (: !)
Laughter is good medicine and good for us. Like blessings, laughter is something we have to choose to find.
Have a great week and may your daughter cook for you again :)
I was sorry to miss FFF this week. I went out of town Friday morning and had a post planned before I went, but ended up not sleeping well Thursday night, not feeling well Friday morning, and having to get a little nap in and arrive at my meeting a little late. But after that the trip went really well!
I am not a minimalist, either, but I do enjoy times of getting rid of unneeded things. Good work!
The birthday celebration sounds like loads of fun! I love when women support each other in the way you mentioned. And laughter! What would life be without it. I know what you mean by #5 - I'm so grateful when anyone else asks to make dinner.
