Hubby declared this the best chicken ever. That I should mark this as Company Chicken. And I should never lose this recipe. He brought up the movie No Reservations (one of my favorite movies ever!) and the scene where the chef is at her psychiatrist"s office and she always brings him some concoction she's created. She's verbally trying to figure out her life and he's not listening because he's too busy swooning over her food. The scene is at about the 18 second mark in the trailer. Anyway, this was like that moment, he says. So I figured I better post it before I lose it in the black hole of my recipe files.
I found it on Pinterest and it linked here. I made a few changes because I didn't have exactly what it called for so I'm posting my adapted version here.
COMPANY CROCKPOT LEMON CHICKEN
via Pinterest link above
- 2 Tbsp. butter
-5 frozen chicken breasts
- generous amount of Italian seasoning (I used ClubHouse Italiano)
-Real Lemon
Place the butter in chunks in the bottom of the crockpot. Lay chicken breasts still frozen over top. Generously sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the chicken. Drizzle Real Lemon juice over top of the chicken breasts. Cook on high for 4 hours.
Notes: You may use fresh chicken breast too but reduce cooking time by half hour.
That's it! Easy Peasy for a dish of melt in your mouth full of flavor chicken. Yum!

Brilliant. Crockpot, check. Chicken, check. Lemons, checkcheckcheck (see that lemon tree out my window?). Thank you!
Sounds yummy and so does the movie...It has been a while since I've seen that one...Great one, though.
Mama Bear
I used to roast chicken with a lemon, but never thought to put it in a crockpot. This looks like a winner for sure!
I've got the chicken in the refrigerator and was wondering what to do with it. Now I know!
I saw you mentioned at nikkipolani's and came to visit. I'm certainly glad I did!
One of my favourite movies too - have you watched the German original "Mostly Martha" - there are English subtitles. It's great too. Oh I need to watch them both again.
Your dish looks scrumptious too!
