Friday's Fave Five #219

The last Fave Five before the "official", at least for me,  Christmas rush starts.  I can't believe it's already the end of November.  It's a good thing I have FFF to think on and record the good things of my weeks or they're going by so fast I'd probably be quite oblivious.  Thanks for joining in with me to look for our blessings.

1.  A loving hubby who, when I had a big headache,  pretty much dropped what he was doing and on his suggestion, ran to the store to get me my headache easer:  herb & spice dip and chips.  Acts of service is one of my love languages so it spoke volumes.  What a Sweetie!

2.  Recipes knocked off the "To Try" list.  Three recipes got tried and tested off my very burgeoning "To Try" files.  One made it into the "Tried & True" file and two, though good, weren't met with the enthusiastic raving that it takes for it to make it into the keep files.  Three down, a few hundred to go.

3.  Work done, fun to come.  My part in the Ladies Christmas party & missions fundraiser at our church has been ongoing since the end of September.  The major work is now done and tomorrow night I can relax and have fun.   Whew, that's my two major things at church I'm involved in, Operation Christmas Child & the Christmas Party, almost wrapped up for another year.  Now I can chill down and enjoy getting ready for Christmas.

4.  My infrared heating pad.  One of the best gifts my hubby ever got me.  I love it when my muscles are sore, when my joints ache or when I'm feeling chilly.  The heat penetrates deeper than a normal heating pad and it's wonderful.

5.  Ice cold Milk.  I love the stuff.  A small thing but one I really enjoy.

How was your week?  Did you take a moment to reflect on the good things in your life?  If not, I encourage you to make it a regular exercise, whether you record for FFF or not.  It's a good thing.

Brilliant headache easer. Even better that your husband knows just the thing! I'm impressed that you manage to try new recipes when you are so busy. Glad you have a tiny respite to enjoy the OCC and party before your Christmas rush!

I checked out the heating pad you mentioned. Then I went and put it on my amazon wish list for Christmas. :)

You are a tease, Susanne. I hope you will share the Keeper recipes with us. I depend upon others to let me know what new recipes to try.

I hope your party and weekend are relaxing and fun.

Susanne, you are so much like me!! i tried a couple of new recipes this week too and they didn't make my fave list. LOL!!! The one dish was "ok" but....let's just say there a lot of leftovers and no one is going for them! it's fun to try new ones though isn't it? Yeah for your 2 major church projects being complete and now you can enjoy the Christmas season and all that it brings. I hope you have a wonderful time at your party tonite!!

Well you have been busy! Glad you got to try new recipes, somehow I never seem to get around to it. I urgently need a foolproof recipe to make curry, mine is always so watery!!!
Hubs sounds a sweetie, bless his little cotton socks, and that heat pad sounds amazing.

Enjoy your party and OCC.xxxxx

What a great list. You are so right, gifts of service are one of my love languages, though I've never thought of that before. Wonderful hubby.

You'll have to share the recipe you enjoyed. Isn't it discouraging to spend the time and money to make something new and have it not meet your expectations?

Hope you have a wonderful week.

Happy Friday. We wait until December to put up Christmas decorations. Sunday is the day unless my son Youth Church events are cancelled on Saturday due to storms. See you next month.

What a nice hubby!! The chips and dip sound YUM!!!

I'll be doing baking for Christmas but otherwise don't cook/bake much but I usually look longingly at recipes wishing I was more into it.

Oh I want a heating pad like that!!!

Great fives!!

That was very nice of your hubby.

I finally stopped renewing my recipe magazines because I had so many recipes to try in folders -- figured I'd better work through some of those first. But now there's Pinterest, so I keep finding more, LOL! We did find a "keeper" recently, though, and that's always fun.

It's so nice to have your Christmas ministry projects done and be able to sit back and relax and enjoy them now.

I had a bad headache this week and my husband worked out his schedule to drive me to work and back. It means a lot when they help us out like that!

Isn't it great to have a rest from your responsibilities? Now you can enjoy the results.
You have the best remedy for headache that I can imagine.
