I almost didn't realize this was Thursday! Goodness where on earth did this week go? But it's Friday and that means we get to find our blessings from the past week. I'm always up for this. Are you ready to look for yours? Guidelines are here.
1. My baby girl got her driver's licence this week. And why is this my favorite? Because it frees me up in the driving department! She's a great little driver and is cautious and careful. It will take me some getting used to not having to wait for the phone call to come and get her, the requests to run her here and run her there, but I'm quite confident in her skills. She's the one of my three who drives a standard and does it well. Way to go, Younger Girl.
2. Twilight Woods Shower Gel and Lotion. Apricot nectar, mimosa petals, and cypress. My new fave from Bath & Body Works.
3. My dishwasher. So thankful for this appliance and I sure don't take it for granted that I have one. With a children's dayhome and all the dishes that I have to do during the day I really appreciate my little white maid chugging away making all my dishes clean! Goodbye dishpan drudgery!

4. Nights at home. I've had a few nights in a row where I just don't have to be anywhere and it has been wonderful. Sometimes I crave to get out. I work at home after all, and other times it just seems I have something out of the house seemingly every night. But this week was good. A nice balance of getting out and staying home. I like that.
5. Books that speak to the heart, books that challenge, books that help me escape, books that draw me in, books that touch all my emotions, books that teach me and uplift. I love to read and cannot imagine a day without books. So thankful I live in a place where they are readily available even to those less fortunate.
What have you been thankful or grateful for this last week?

Hurray for freeing up more time -- I hope you don't replace it with worry for your new driver! Love that antique ad for GE's anti-drudgery machine :-) Hope your balanced weeks continue so you can get to your book backlog!
Yay for the driver's license! I remember those days of being the daily chauffeur and don't miss them much!
I love my dishwasher too--I've never enjoyed washing dishes.
I hope you have more evenings at home to read.
You are so right with the dishwasher ! It was the first thing I asked for as wedding gift 43 years ago and had one ever since ! I like the add, so typical ! The man proud that he could afford to buy HER a dishwasher and she sooo happy as if it is difficult to put a dish in the washer and push a button ! (although Mr. G. is very reluctant to do that and prefers to wash the dishes by hand, lol )
Congrats to your daughter!! that must be a great feeling! and yay for dishwashers!! I know mine has sure been a blessing to me this past week, too! And thank you for your prayers and encouraging words, Susanne. They meant a lot to me. Hugs to you...have a good weekend enjoying time at home and good books! :)
Congratulations to your daughter! I so wish my daughter had accomplished that. Now she's inching in on 21 and still doesn't have a license and where we live that's a problem. Your daughter should be proud of herself.
I know exactly what you mean about your dishwasher. There have been days when I've done 5 loads in mine--can you imagine life without one? I don't want to, LOL.
Books! Yay! Thank you so much for the wonderful ones you've introduced me to. I always look forward to your reviews.
I like the illustrations you gave with your faves. I know what you mean about balance between the 'in' nights and the 'away from home' nights. And added to that is coordinating with your hub's 'in' nights and 'out' nights. Life isn't slowing down now that we reached the "golden years", is it.
I love this Friday fave fives idea.
Well done baby girl! xxxxx
I don't know Susanne, but my baby girl getting her driver's license would scare me to death LOL
Enjoyed the others on your list too, especially the books :)
I've had mixed emotions about each of my three getting theirs licenses, but once I got used to it each time I loved the extra time it gave me -- plus the fact that I could call them to pick up something on the way home for me. :-)
I LOVE my dishwasher. We didn't have one the first several years we were married.
I'm getting to where I don't like being out at nights much at all, especially when it is cold and dark.
Amen to #5! Love books!
Congratulations to your girl! That will free up a lot of your time.
I think we need to get a Bath & Body Works here on the Island. You seem to get a lot of lovely things from there.
I'm with you on books - so grateful for them!!
Happy weekend Susanne!
It's good to have a spare driver in the house for sure! I'm glad you have a cautious one. I need a couple nights home right about now. I think that will happen on the weekend for me...
Have a great weekend and don't forget to set your clocks back...
Dishwashers are a blessing, to be sure!
Finding the right balance between going somewhere and staying home is a challenge for most of us, I think. I believe I'd be happy only getting out a couple times a week - but perhaps that is just me longing for what I can't have ...
Books have been my friend since the day I learned to read. I can't imagine life without books ...
I'm still grateful every day for my dishwasher too, I don't think I could miss it anymore! Congratulations to your daughter, and hurray for you! I know how precious it is to have a little more time on your hands. I finally found time to join in again this week and reconnect with my blogging friends because this week was a holiday week. Let's hope I can find time for one or two posts each week from now on?
Hi Susanne, how do I subscribe ti your blog? xxx
Thank you Willow, for letting me know that the link was wrong.
Enjoyed reading this!
I've had boring soap for too long. Because of your post, I am going to Bath & Body Works to see what flavour gel I will come home with. First smell will be your fave. ;)
Nights at home are such a luxury. So glad your week felt so balanced. I need more of that.
Have a great weekend.
What a great feeling to be able to hang up your chauffeur's cap. Congrats to your daughter!
I agree that balance in being home or getting out of the house is so important. Sometimes it takes me a couple of days of not going anywhere to be able to settle in. I get so used to running around.
That's such an awesome add for the dishwasher. :D And, of course, I liked number 5. Congrats to your daughter - and to you!
