So here is a before:
The upper cabinets are missing in this one having already been removed by the time I thought to take a picture.
Here's the new:
I can't get the exposure and color quite right but it's fairly close. The next will be a better representation of the color.
Before:
No looking at the unloading mess on the counter top allowed.
After:
Counter top before and our former backsplash:
Counter top after:
So now I'm totally stressing out about the floor. We've chosen a laminate, bought scads of it but now I'm totally going bonkers thinking it might be too busy with the counters and that it doesn't fit at all. This is so typical for me. I did the same with stressing about the counter top I chose.
What do you guys think? Too busy or not? Be honest.
From the top of a chair, a view that you wouldn't normally have. These next ones are the views that would be more to what you would see when you come in the door:
So what do you think? Is the floor too much?

Not too much at all. The whole thing is gorgeous I think. My favorite part is the backsplash.
I love it! The counter tops are gorgeous and the backsplash goes with it perfectly. I'm a big fan of wood floors and I think what you've chosen works. The solid cabinets give a 'break' from the counter top pattern, so it's not too busy for me.
My hubby sells flooring. He says way too busy. He offered to have one of their designers check it out and give their opinion if you'd like. Let me know.
Love the counter though. Very pretty.
I think my favorite part is the countertop. So pretty! I'm sure you will really enjoy doing the dishes now. ;)
I love the countertop, it's gorgeous :)
I love wooden floors, so that would be the direction I would head in.
I see what you mean about worrying that the floor is too much. I do think it's a bit busy.
But I LOVE your choices and I think your kitchen really does look lovely.
I'm afraid I'm in the "too busy" camp, too. But then I tend towards minimalism... However, I really like how much more integrated your cabinets and counter and backsplash look. You must be so pleased with that!
Very nice, especially the counter top and back splash! I can't quite decide about the busyness of the flooring. I'm sort of leaning towards too busy, but if you use rugs it might break it up some. Then again, that would be adding another pattern. I'm not much help....
I LOVE your backsplash!!! everything came out great. You're asking the wrong person though about the floors. It took me FOREVER to decide just what KIND of floor to replace our old laminate......I knew I wanted a PLAIN kind as in a deep tan or khaki. I ended up with a Khaki color grade 5 STONE. I love it but I HATE making decisions like that! LOL...go with what your gut and heart say! :)

Have a lovely evening.
