Hi and Welcome! It's Friday so that means it's time to look at our week and find those moments that have been a blessing. Some weeks it's easy to find them and the list can go way past five and other weeks it's a struggle.
1. This post by Bev at Numbering Our Days. Totally ministered and spoke to me and was exactly what I needed at that moment.
2. A New Curling Iron. It's funny but you don't realize how decrepit something is until you finally bite the bullet and go get a new one. I was avoiding spending money on a new curling even though hubby had fixed mine I don't know how many times. It's eons old but I kept thinking it was working just fine until finally it just wouldn't grip my hair anymore. Horrors, I've been going with uncurled hair for almost a week! But when I got my new one, finally, the other day, I realized just how badly the old one was working! A new curling iron makes me happy!
3. My Favorite Salad. So simple yet so yummy. Romaine lettuce, walnut halves, apple chunks, miracle whip. That's it. Love this stuff and I can eat just that for lunch or dinner and be happy.
4. Great messages at church that really teach and speak to me. Our pastor has been doing a three week series on going through storms in life and it has been really good. It's really held my attention and has given us good conversation back at home over Sunday lunch.
5. Movie and lunch out with friends. I mentioned it before but it was definitely a fave. Hubby and I and another couple went to see "The Iron Lady" and went to a restaurant for lunch afterwards. Again great conversation inspired by the movie. Time with good friends, a good movie and delicious lunch together. Gotta love it.
What were your favorites this week? I encourage you to take a moment and look for them. If you care to share, don't forget to link your post on the linky below and if you can visit around a bit. Have a great weekend.

I love your collection of deep things and little daily things and conversation starting things this week.
The movie sounds like it would be a good one to see. And conversation accompanied by great food just added to the enjoyment.
Have a great weekend!
Sounds like you had a wonderful, relaxing week. Have a blessed weekend!
Beautiful list. I love that post, thank you for sharing.
I wish our pastor preached more about present day struggles. I understand it's important to preach about what Jesus did and why, but sometimes I feel like it would be more helpful if she'd make the link and apply things to my life.
Sounds like another nice week. Lunch out is always great. That salad sounds wonderful. I make a Waldorf salad which is just walnuts and apples. BUT - I have to use Hellman's Mayonnaise : ) Don't like Miracle Whip. When I make anything requiring it, I always have to make two, because my husband only wants the Mircale Whip.
LOVE that post, Susanne! I haven't seen The Iron Lady, but it's definitely on my list. Hope you have a great week.
It's the simple things that bring contentment. I have yet to see the Iron Lady, but am excited to see your reviews. Arg...the curling iron, my story is the same, but it is nice to enjoy the new one and see how they have improved them over the years. Have a great weekend.
I'm glad you had such a great week. That salad sounds delicious, I think I will try that, except for the Miracle Whip of course, I've never seen that in Belgium.
Hoping to be back on track with Fave fives next week. New appliances that work right are a treat. That's a movie I think I'd enjoy, too. Have a great weekend!
I love a salad using those ingredients, too. I'm glad you can get Miracle Whip in Canada!
Thanks for sharing Bev's post. I agree: I don't think Jesus meant for us to live such crazy busy lives either!
I've done that with appliances too, and wondered why I ever waited so long to replace the old ones.
Bev's post was refreshing. It is hard it know what to cut out so we don't have that constant rushed feeling, but it really is necessary.
It's wonderful when a sermon really speaks to us. They all do in some way, but sometimes they just especially minister.
I'd love to see that movie some time.
It's often the simple things we take for granted...one more reason why I love FFF.
That IS an amazing post at Numbering Our Days. Great message!
My favorite foods are always the simple ones, too. :)
Sermons on how to handle well the storms in life are always good ones to hear for myself or to know how to give helpful help to others. I love that the messages seem to be just what I need to hear too!
So glad you got a new curling iron. That is the next appliance on my to-buy list. I just replaced my hairdryer and I didn't realize how low functioning it was until I used the new one.
Have a great week!
I love new hair thingys. And your salad sounds so delicious!
Oh yummy....walnuts and apples in salad is one of my faves too!! (or pear slices). That movie is on my list of "must sees" (along with about 4 other ones!)...hopefully I'll get to see it when it gets to netflix or redbox! :) yay for lunches out with good friends and new hair products!!
I just had a romaine salad the other day with pecans, dried crasins and bleu cheese dressing.
Am wanting to see Iron Lady. Love Meryl Streep.
I am always putting off replacing old appliances and making do. I have a toaster that needs replacing, but keep waiting for it to die. The coffee pot is another story. We went through 3 last year. Those were replaced pretty quickly. Need my coffee pot!
That's one of my favourite salads too Susanne
I'm hoping to go see that movie when we get back - unless they're showing it on the ship :)
Hope you have a great week!
Thank you, Susanne, for letting me know my words blessed you. Humbled. xoxox
Sounds like you had a great week!! I know walnuts in a salad are common but I've never tried...perhaps I will. Sounds refreshing!!
Isn't it wonderful when God speaks right to us, and we see that it's Him? I'm so glad you got exactly what you needed!
It was nice that you treated yourself to a new curling iron, too. I tend to hold back on replacing things, too. I think it's a Momish thing we become accustomed to. :)
That salad sounds easy and delicious! Thanks for sharing it as a fave!
xo Catherine
Oh! I want to see Iron Lady! I had forgotten all about it!
Shudder. So glad you are traveling about with curled hair again! ;D
