Friday's Fave Five #179

Hi everyone!  It's been a very fast week since last Friday.  But here we are again to share our favorite blessings from the last week.  Whether you're week was super de dooper or you pushed on through it, take a moment and look for those things uplifted you, then join us as we share them.

My favorites were all related to a visit with my oldest girl for her birthday and time, which I must admit ,seems to be clipping along awful fast lately.  If anyone can figure out a way to slow it down just send me a little email.

1.  Time with hubby.  We don't very often get the opportunity to get away on our own but last weekend the chance came up.  So we packed a bag, booked the hotel and off we went, just the two of us to see the Oldest Girl for her birthday. Well, us and the hound.  It's about a 7 hour drive one way so we had plenty of time to chat over Starbucks & Timbits as we drove.  Once there we had a belated Valentine's dinner at the restaurant our daughter works at.

2.  Time with Oldest Daughter.  Never enough, as far as I'm concerned.  Even though we just saw her at Christmas, usually the next time we would see her would be Easter.  So this little weekend was extra special.  It was nice taking up her present instead of having to mail it and very nice to take her out for supper to a place of her choice.

3.  Time testing out the new (to us) vehicle.  It was fun taking the it out on a road trip and figuring out all the buttons and workings.

4.  Time shopping at a favorite store.  Our city doesn't have a Homesense, so it's a treat to be able go and browse around for a bit.  I was a good girl and didn't spend too much though, only buying a couple of candles and a couple boxes of thank you cards.  Oh and a couple of toys for the before mentioned hound, who was very happy we thought of him.

5.  Time to do lots of reading.  There was lots of time to just relax, put up my feet and read.  One of my favorite ways to spend some time.

What were your favorite blessings this week?  If you do a post, link it on up and join in.  And if you can, take a minute a visit the other participants.  There's been quite a few newcomers, say a friendly hello to them and be blessed reading how others were uplifted this week.

It's lovely that you had time with your girl and a little road trip too! Though a fast one, your week sounds absolutely delightful :-)

That's nice to have a little time together (We have all the time, because we are retired, so a little break from each other is welcome, lol)
Our son lives in Amsterdam which is only 2 h away.

PS. Could you please take the word verification out ? It's so time using and useless !

There is a way to slow time down--get sick or injured--but I don't recommend it.
Your time away sounds wonderful--especially the part about being with your daughter.

It has been fun to read the posts of and welcome the newcomers.

How lovely to spend extended time with your hubby and extra time with your oldest daughter. I got to spend time with my daughter over the weekend too. Although she had to work, I did get bits of her time and it was heart-warming!

Breaking in a new car is always fun. What is your favourite feature? In my next car I hope to get a built in gps system.

Have a great week, Susanne.

Your favorites and mine look so much alike this week! I also had some extra time with my husband and like you we took our new car for a spin yesterday! You had a lovely time with your daughter, and I'm counting the days till I see mine. Another three weeks until we get to spend some time together.

How wonderful! I'm glad you got some special time with your hubby and glad you got to see your daughter for her birthday. It must be so hard to see her so infrequently. Glad you got away.

Susan: Hard to decide about the favorite feature but I think because it's winter I would have to say the heated seats but I know once the nice weather hits it gonna be the sun roof!

Sounds like a wonderful excursion in many respects! Glad you had time with Oldest Daughter plus time to spend with Hubby at a restaurant. It's nice to test out a new car on a trip as well: glad it performed well! I've never been to one of those stores: they do actually have one here but I forget about it until we're in that part of town and I see the sign for it. It's not near me but I need to make plans to visit it.

You know that I'm a fan of road trips! It's great that yours had such a nice destination - visiting the Oldest Daughter.

Trying out a new vehicle is always great fun as well.

I like the time theme. The way you did the senses last week was neat, too.

I'm so glad you had time with your husband, and with your daughter, and your new car. I wish time didn't slip away so quickly, but how wonderful that you had some that was entirely devoted to relaxing and enjoying the people you love.

Thank you! Catherine

Wow sounds like you had a great week!! I'd love to pack my bags and take off for a few days with my hub. Of course, we'd have to get someone to take care of the dogs and cats, lol. Glad you had a good time with your daughter!!

I don't think we have HomeSense, but we do have something like it. It's a dangerous place for me, so many temptations.

I like your Time theme this week, and the weekend with your husband sounds great. We used to be good about planning getaways, but it's been a while. No matter where we go, usually just local, it doesn't matter, it's that uninterrupted time -- finishing conversations! -- that is such a treat.
