Friday's Fave Five #160

Hello everyone.  Welcome to a very cold and wet Friday.  A perfect day to curl up with a hot drink and a throw blanket and look for five blessings from the week.  Whether it be an easy task or something very difficult, I encourage you to look for the good things of your days.  It doesn't have to be big, it could be the simplest of things, yet it was what gave you a smile, gave you hope, or lifted you even if for just a moment.

I think because of the weather and it suddenly feeling like fall instead of Indian Summer, my favorites are all about those things that seem to make me feel cozy.

1.  Winter quilts. Finally it's on my bed, my big puffy quilt, a simple thing yet it makes me smile when I get into bed.  So comfy and so warm.  The nice thing about the weather getting colder is that quilt coming out of hiding and onto the bed.

2.  A surprise candle from hubby.  Hubby came home bearing a gift of my favorite brand of candle.  I love a nice Wood Wick candle and he brought me home a Triology scent.  I'm usually not a berry scented candle fan especially at this time of year,  but this is lovely.  Not heavy at all and very fresh and lovely.  Sweet gift from a sweet hubby.
3.  Cozy throw blankets.  Nothing nicer on the cooler evenings when the wind is blowing and the rain is falling than cozying up on the couch with a warm throw blanket.

4.  Fall colors decorating the house.  My favorite colors to decorate with are the rich browns, golds and rusts of fall time.  I love pulling out the fall decorations as it brings those right into the house.  And I finally felt like changing to fall decorations this week.  A bit behind this year on that this year.

5.  Thanksgiving plans.  Yup it's Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend.  Took me a bit by surprise this year, it seems so early, but I love making the plans for dinner and what we're going to do on the weekend.  Hopefully the weather will co-operate with all my well made plans.

What have been your favorites from the last week?  Please join us as we look for those blessings.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What a thoughtful gift from your hubby! I like the wood wick candles, too.

Cozy quilts and blankets when the temperatures are dropping are so nice.

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving weekend!

We had a strange weather is year in Northern Europe. It was very warm like in summer in April and May and then cold and rainy the whole summer then summer in September/October, so there is nothing of fall yet in the air. And the trees are still quiet green. Anyway for me it's better, I hate fall and winter !

Happy Thanksgiving to you, my Canadian friend! We are celebrating Columbus day so I have monday off.
I also wrote about autumn in my faves post! The candle looks like it will go nicely with your decor and I enjoy curling up on the couch with a warm throw as well. We are having Indian Summer here so I haven't needed the heat yet nor an extra quilt. I love this weather! Happy FFF

Wow -- Thanksgiving already for you. Have a wonderful time. I so look forward to Thanksgiving.

All your talk of puffy quilts and throw blankets made me long for coooler weather! We'll get it in Florida, eventually...

Happy Thanksgiving and have a wonderful week!

We've had wild weather the last few days - even a bit of wet snow yesterday! And tomorrow ti's supposed to go up to 20. It sounds like your Alberta weather Susanne :)

We've had the stove on so it's been extra cosy around here. Oh yes, I was able to get The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks at the library. LOoking forward to reading it!

Happy Thanksgiving weekend Susanne. Hope you have a wonderful celebration.

I've been needing to and someone up to the attic to get my fall decorations down.

Happy Thanksgiving. I know that I am grateful that you, Susanne, have this weekly meme.

Did you try any new recipes this year? I am going to bake a double chocolate pumpkin cake today (for a potluck) to see if it makes the recipe list for our Thanksgiving in November.

I don't have fall decorations, but I do enjoy those colours. I imagine it does look very cozy in your home.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Your house sounds like it must be wonderful in the fall. All those great colors, scented candles, warm throws.

I'll be right over:)

Oh it's so odd to think that THIS coming weekend is your Thanksgiving weekend. =D Huh.

Fall colors?! Cozy quilts?! Candles?! Are you in my head? LOVING those things this week. (Although my post wasn't about those things.) Thriving on those things this week!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I was going to say that my hubby would never do something like that, but then I realized that I never do something like that for him either, in fact, I have no idea what he would even like. I'm going to have to work on that.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I'm visiting your blog for the first time (I came here through Sandra's Diary of a Stay at Home Mom) and it is such a nice blog. And I decided to join in with my favorite five. I think it's a great idea to do this every week.
Many blessings

I love cozy quilts. My mom has been making us all quilts for years, and we love bundling up with a good book or movie. What a sweet gift from your husband!

It has not been cold enough yet for our winter quilts, but I know the day is coming soon! I do love the transition into fall, it just feels so restful.
