Friday's Fave Five #149
Oh my goodness, I can't believe I haven't posted since last week's fave five. But I have been a busy little beaver this week. But that doesn't mean there wasn't blessings in all the busyness. Are you ready to look for yours from the last week?
1. Safe arrivals. Always a favorite when I have family on the roads. My oldest girl brought the youngest home from her 3 weeks away at a youth training summer "camp". And my son arrived at his camping spot safe and sound. When I see that car pull up or get that phone call say they've made it, there is always a huge sigh of relief and a prayer of thankfulness going to God for keeping them safe once again.
2. Oldest daughter home. It's the week out of the summer that she comes home. It's nice to be able to sleep in a bit and then just have casual days with no agenda just to be with her.
3. Stories of fun, adventure and drawing closer to God. I've loved listening to the interesting stories of what my youngest experienced in her 3 weeks away. She's grown so much in maturity and in drawing closer to the Lord. It's exciting to pick up on her excitement of her adventures.
4. The best bbq sauce evah! Oh my goodness. I can drink this stuff. It's absolutely perfect for pork or chicken. I'm stocking up to get me through the winter when they probably won't be stocking it so much. Yum, apple-y and cinnamon-y and butter-y. My mouth waters as I type about it. And I'm sorry to my American FFF's but I think it's a Canadian thing. Lucky us! Although I think you may be able to order it online.
5. Goodbye red, hello green. Dill pickle green to be exact. We are repainting younger girl's (16) room from red to green. I don't what possessed us to do red but we haven't really liked it at all. The green is lovely and worth the effort it's taking. Now when I look at her open door it makes me smile.
What are your favorite blessings, your favorite happenings, your favorite quotes, songs, thoughts, whatevers, from your week. Do a post and don't forget to sign up on Mr. Linky, linking to the specific post please. If you need a few guidelines they are here. And now I'm off for more visiting and relaxing. Have a great weekend!

Green is a wonderful relaxing color to paint a bedroom. Great color choice!
I'm so happy to hear that your girls are both home this week and have had such great experiences. And you've been able to sleep in--that would be a definite positive for me!
I'll try not to be jealous about the bbq sauce...
Have a happy weekend!
Yes it's nice when the whole family is together ! We have had painted the whole house in one color, "creme" except the kitchen which is red !
I knew you would have your children in your Fave Five this week! It's so good to know they're safe but to have them home with you is even better! I had a green living room once, and I liked it a lot! Have a wonderful weekend Susanne!
So glad to hear about the safe arrivals - I pray those prayers a lot especially with band boys! Also glad that you've enjoyed your week off with your girls at home. So nice for you to be together.
I'll have to look up that barbeque sauce. Sounds yummy!
Hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks again for hosting Susanne!
I enjoyed reading your list. I also often pray for and thank God for my children's safety. I like green better than red for sure :).
Have a blessed weekend in the Lord!
It's wonderful when your children come home to visit. Our son is visiting with us as well. We love having him here! Enjoy your daughter's company.
Great list Susanne! it's always a fave with me to know family members have arrived at their destination safely....I'm sure I'll be doing lots of praying about THAT when we send the oldest off in 3 weeks! And that sauce....wow..looks GOOD!! Have a fun weekend with your family!!!
So nice to have kids back home and safe in all their traveling. I have one coming in this weekend. I'd love to change the color of my walls...sadly, we just never do that. Your sauce looks SO good!
Enjoy the week ahead!
Some weeks are busy like that, Susanne! But I'm glad you're back for FFF. Hurray for your oldest and youngest being home with free time :-) Hope you'll be sharing photos of the new green room!
Wow, that BBQ sauce sounds interesting - I would have never thought of apple butter being in a BBQ sauce!
Changing wall colors can be such fun! I recently went to a red kitchen and I'm loving it.
Glad you have time off to visit with your daughter!
I can so identify with the first three! I am glad everyone made it to their destinations okay and had such great experiences.
My favorite barbecue sauce is Sticky Fingers, especially the Carolina Sweet flavor. Mmmm...
Green sounds like a much better color for a room than red. I can only take red in small doses.
I love safe arrivals too. I’m so thankful for text messaging so I always know when my daughter even gets to the church building safely. Enjoy having your oldest daughter home!
We repainted our son's room from a disney blue to white. He outgrew the blue and orange and the space shuttle painted on the walll. Looks some much cleaner.
Glad to hear your whole family will be together. It must be fun to hear about all your daughter has learned. My son comes back on Sunday and I am dying to hear all about his mission.
I am going to look up your BBQ sauce online, it sounds amazing! And I love things covered in BBQ sauce.
Green is my favorite color. :) I'm glad you like the new look.
I'm so glad your children are all safe and sound, and that your youngest had such a good experience at camp. It must be wonderful to have your girls with you!
Thanks, susanne!
Great list of wonderful faves. I agree about the green -- though, lol, looking at my blog would be a giveaway that I'm a bit partial to green!
Have a wonderful Friday.
Rachel
Your home sounds like a happy place with all the kids back in the nest for a while. And freshly painted rooms are so much fun. A great way to start off a new school year!
Susanne, you are such a tease. That bbq sauce delish with the apple butter. I will have to see if I can order it online.~ I love how color on the walls can make such a big difference to the mood of the room. My biggest color mistake was yellow. My son called the room "The submarine room" as in "We all love in a yellow submarine." Those walls are now green too. A cross between sage and olive. LOVE it!!! Glad you like your new color too. ~ Listening to the stories my kiddos tell is always a fav esp when it involves lessons learned. Glad your kiddos are doing so well.~ Have another great week, Susanne.
