Friday's Fave Five #97

Hi! Welcome to Friday's Fave Five. The place to look back over our week and find five favorite things that stood out to us. If you need more detail you can visit here first and then come on back and join in!

1. A challenging bike ride. Hubby and I love to go on bike rides when we can. We usually ride all over the city and love to look at houses and neighborhoods. But this week we went down the hills to the river bottom. We got on a trail that was just a small skinny trail made with bikes and headed down hill. It hooked up to a paved walking trail. It was a might nice ride going down. But boy, oh boy. Coming back up was hard tough a killer. I had to get off and catch my breath and take a short break a couple of times and hubby had to push my bike up the short flight of steps that were there (thank you, Hubby) but I did make it up. I felt exhausted but like I'd really accomplished something.

2. My hubby who without even being asked made a chip & dip run for me yesterday when I had a huge headache. If you're new here, I have a bizarre little solution that works for me on certain headaches. Plain potato chips with Philadephia Brand Herb & Spice Dip. Works pretty much every time. I know, it's weird, but when I've got that headache I don't care if it's weird, I just care that it works. But anyway the favorite was not the chip and dip but the fact that my sweet man went out and got me some without me even asking. Love ya, Sweetie!

3. The smell of fresh cut watermelon. So summery!

4. Ladies Night Out. And what did we do? Went to Toy Story 3D, of course! And it was wonderful. We had such a great time. A great way to relax and have fun and build relationship outside of bible study!

5. Jewel tone purple nail polish. Totally frivolous, I know. I never paint my fingernails but love the darker colors on my toes. Sally Hansen Insta Dry in Pronto Purple is one of my faves this year.

What were your favorites this week? Join us with a post and sign up on Mr. Linky. (Hopefully he'll play nice this week. :v) )

Hurray for your making it all the way on that bike ride! I agree that thoughtful hubbies are the BEST! Purple polish=gorgeous. And I'm soooo glad to be back!

Chip and dip? Say no more. Of course it's a fave :-)

I'm a toenails-only polisher, too. Toy Story 3D with the girls sounds like great fun. It was a great movie. Whatever works for your headache--do it! I understand that since my daughter has started getting headaches.
Have a great weekend.

You know, I've not ridden my bike this summer ... I'm waiting for it to cool back down at least into the low 80s! Sounds like your hubby did good this week! I had to smile at you and your girlfriends going to see Toy Story 3! I didn't realize that was a chick flick, Ha!

I should be trying your chip and dip remedy - I've been fighting a headache for the past few days.

Congratulations on your bike ride! Especially the uphill section - way to go!

I had my nails done too - but not purple - maybe I need to be a bit more adventurous :)

Happy weekend Suzanne! Thanks for hosting.

OS - I entered Mr Linky twice - my first title was too long - I didn't think it was there but then lo and behold both are up. Can you delete the first one? Thanks!

I love your five this week. I have a bad headache today so I might go out and buy some potato chips. Iced cold coca cola often works form me.

We saw Toy Story 3 for Fathers Day and loved it.

Love that purple nail polish too. I think I'll get some for the fall. Right now I am in to orange.

hmmm - that's PS - not OS. :)

I love your headache remedy (I'm going to try that!) and love even more what a dear hubby you have!

Yes, fresh cut watermelon. I read further and see that you, too, cried at Toy Story 3. Join the club! I loved your earlier answers about having a dayhome. Such great advice for parents! Can I quote you?!

yay for wonderful husbands, I can say that mine has been wonderful this past week. I love the nail polish color, I don't do my fingernails either but I try to keep the toenails painted through the summer. I love watermelon. Have a great week!

I love the bike ride post- you need to do more of those so that the route becomes easy. Try training for a multi day charity ride and you will see how much you can accomplish for both yourself and others.

As for your headache remedy- I bet it has something to do with the salt and sugar combination -are you dehydrated? Sometimes an electrolyte imbalance that is caused by dehydration will cause a headache and usually salt and sugar and fluid is what cures that ailment.

watermelon is one of the best things about summer!

Toy Story 3 is one of the best!

Bet your hubby's thoughtfulness helped a bit on the headache, too - not just the 'cure' he went for.

Have a great weekend! Hope you get some sun.

Maybe it's the salt in the chips and dip. Who knows? Who cares as long as it works. And, isn't that sweet of your husband to get it for you.

I've not shared for a while, but have done so this morning. Love your new 'logo' and will use it next time around. Interesting headache remedy ... I shall give it a try one of these days myself. It's been a while since I've taken a challenging bike ride, but I have wonderful memories of bike rides past ;-)

I like that purple, I may just have to go find one like it LOL

That bike ride does indeed sound challenging. Glad you made it!

I wish my middle son could find such a solution for his headaches. He has been having daily migraines and has missed a lot of work -- he's seeing a neurologist Monday. How sweet of your hubby to get the needed supplies for you.

The ladies' night out sounds fun. I am so looking forward to that movie.

You du' woman! I enjoy a good bike ride, but the one you took sounds like an amazing feat. Go You!

Funny, first time I ever read about your headache chip and dip combo I was intrigued. This time I read right over it as no big deal, only remembering it needed a bit of explaining as you did just that. :-)

We had watermelon this week too. YUM! And the polish looks very fun!

Happy Weekend Friend!

I do the exact same thing with nail polish - must do my toes but rarely do my fingers. :)

I love dark colors on my toes too! This one is great.....love it. I also love girls night out!

I'm eager to go see Toy Story 3 also but am kind of afraid that I'll cry through the whole thing. The Velveteen Rabbit about put me over the edge. Love the purple polish. What a great color!

Oh, I love biking! I love how you just kept pushing on - you go woman! :)

Your husband was so sweet to do the chip run without being asked - yeah for good men!

Your week sounds like it was really good. :)

Sounds like a great week! I haven't forgotten about my '7 things' post. I'm just so out of it these days, I haven't been blogging much:/

Yes, watermelon, is there something more "summery" than that? I bought a whole one yesterday and hubby will cut it up in the morning. One of my favorite things about summer is all that wonderful produce. Enjoy your purple nail polish! I'm sure it looks very pretty. :)

Sweet blessings!

Pronto purple, I love it!! You wild child you :)

Hope your headache is feeling better. I am still packing. My house is getting a little more echoy with each passing day.
