Friday's Fave Five #45

Welcome everyone to Friday's Fave Five. As I'm typing this I'm melting into a nice puddle. It is so hot here. Well, hot for me anyway. It's 28*C here, 82*F for my American friends. I know, I know. I can hear you laughing all the way from Florida, Hawaii & Texas and states like that. But I'm seriously cooking. And alas, I'm a land locked gal. No ocean to dip in for me. So I'm glad I have this to distract me. Did I mention it was hot here? LOL. I'm such a heat wimp. Anyway, I'm sure this look back at my week will get me on track for looking to the positive. I mean, I read on a few blogs that some of you actually like the heat. It will probably make some of your lists. In fact, I think I'll count and see how many of you I can catch at it.

If you're new you can go here for details and jump right in.

1. I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that a kiddie pool is the first on my list. Wow, it sure did wonders today to keep the kids all amused in this heat. And don't be too shocked to know that I will probably actually sit in it with them tomorrow. Why do you think I buy the 18 inch deep by 7' foot wide one? Perfect for an adult or two to sit and a child or 5 to splash around in.

2. Sweet Peas. My sweet peas have started blooming and oh, the fragrant smell. I wish I could load it and put it through the post for you! And they look so pretty too, in all their colors.

3. Cherries. We've been enjoying the season's cherries from the Okanagon. This is such a wonderful once a year treat for us and we've enjoyed every sweet, luscious bite.

4. And I'll bet it wasn't too hard to guess that Air conditioning is making my list. I finally gave in tonight and turned it on when the house was 80*F at 10:30 at night and not a breeze to be felt. I know I'm totally spoiled having it but I am very, very grateful for it and do not take it for granted at all.

5. Hawaiian Tropics Sunscreen. This stuff totally smells like summer to me. And yes, Thom, I tried it for the very first time in Hawaii. My goodness, can that be 21 years ago? 1988. Yup. Wow, where did the time go. A lot of bottles of this stuff has been poured in our family since that fateful trip that introduced me to this.

So what are you enjoying from your week? Can you name 5 favorites? If you do a post sign on to Mr. Linky and we would love to come and visit and enjoy your favorites with you.

Wow those cherries! It's great to see a photo of them 'live' from a branch; we have them here only from the can or from special markets. 28 degrees is a bit cold to us in Southeast Asia. When the AC has been on at 24-25c for hours we start shivering lol... Happy Friday! I see that being absent from work today has its use and a pleasant surprise - I'm first on the linky :-)

Yes, Hazel, you beat me tonight. I was out at a baseball game!

Lovely Faves again this week, Susanne. Kiddy pools, AC- it's obvious that summertime is here!

I got into my kids' pool a time or two when they were little, too! And I don't think I could live without air conditioning. I don't know how people can like the heat -- the break out into a sweat within 10 minutes kind we have here.

Oh Susanne. It's like you're describing spring in So Cal. We've "cooled down" to the 80s. But didn't you get some rain earlier in the week? And sweet peas? Mine are just setting seed! Cherries, now, that we're still enjoying - glad you are, too. Enjoy your weekend!

A pool, cherries, air conditioning, sweet peas ... Oh my sounds like a wonderful and hot Summer to me! I might have to give that Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen a try when I go there in November! It looks like you had a great week, and so did I!
My new post is up now too, it's
here!

I just bought some HT sunscreen last night, and I opened the the bottle in the store, inhaled and said, 'Mmmm. Summertime!"

I admit I smiled at your temperature meltdown (I'm from Alabama). :-) It's all in what you get used to. We've been in the 80's the past few days and it's felt so cool. So we're going to Florida to thaw out. Have a great weekend!

Sounds of summer! We put the air on this week too...mostly for the humidity.

GREAT list! Sweet Peas are one of my top 3 favorite flowers! One of the sweetest scents, for sure!

cherries are my favorite summertime fruit, as well.

And I, also, am a heat wimp. We have central air conditioning and I LOVE it! I am very happy that there is a reason to run it, don't get me wrong.....I am glad there are hot days and I enjoy being outside in the heat - for a very short time - but I love that I have the option of a cool house.

Hello Susanne! Someone needs to take a photo of you sitting in that pool with the kiddos!! What fun. I love cherries. Our A/C is on down here in So. Cal. too. Dear is threatening to put a unit in our bedroom in Washington also. Sunblock...I don't go anywhere without it :0)

Happy Friday Friend!

Kiddie pools and A/C's oh yeah it's summer but it sounds like fun. I don't like heat too but I prefer it than cold weather.

Great list and happy weekend.

LOL...that's hot for us too. Enjoy that kiddie pool :)

I'm envious of your heat wave right now. In Michigan where I am today it feels like a nice fall day- 60's Come on Michigan! It's summer! But I know if it flew to 85 tomorrow, especially accompanied by our ever present lake effect humidity- I'd be whining "It's hot.."

Enjoyed your list- especially peas and cherries- mmmm.

Great list, Susanne! We've been out of town for two days, got home tonight and the house is cooking! Air conditioning and a kiddie pool would be very welcome right now.

Have a great weekend!

I had to laugh at #4. I turned on the AC in April. I've never lived in a climate cold enough to not need AC or even to open the windows at night.
I'm with you on the kiddie pool!

I love your fave's! In fact all of those are favorites of mine too.

I'm jealous. Your pool is bigger than mine. However, I managed to get completely soaked and therefore cooled down tonight when Cameron and Avery were in MY pool. Good heavens, it's a hundred degrees here today, so they can splash me all they want.

And if we didn't have a/c, I'd just go ahead and find a bucket to kick.

Michelle said...

I would so join you in the pool :) I'm here melting but at the park beside the waterpark...you know I'm one of those Mum's with camera handy at all times..toes only in the water.Have a good weekend.

Sorry that I am just not dropping by for a visit (it's almost time for another FFF) but I didn't want a week to go by without visiting you!

It's funny we both posted about cherries this week. It's fun reading your blog because I find out things about Canada I didn't know such as growing seasons and temperatures. I personally think 75-80°F days are perfect! This week, we've been having weather like you. I love it.
