Friday's Fave Five #30

Welcome to Friday's Fave Five. The perfect place to reflect back over your week and find your five favorite moments or things. If you're joining us for the first time we welcome you. If you need the details you can go here first if you'd like.
So here we go:

1. For the very fact that we've made it #30 and I'm enjoying it more than ever, Friday's Fave Five meme is on my list. Can you believe we've been doing this for 30 weeks? Amazing. I never thought that when I started this that I would so enjoy this little meme and so look forward to it each week. I love how it slows me down and causes me to look for the little things in my week that make life wonderful, no matter what they might be. Sometimes I'm so busy and sometimes feeling so overwhelmed that it is like a refreshing drink of water to do this each week. And then I get even more uplifted when I visit with you all and read what has blessed and touched you and made you all happy. What a wonderful way to end each week. And to have all you, old friends and brand new friends, join me each week just blows me away. Thank you for joining me in this.

2. Hubby blessed me with this beautiful little spring bouquet. He knows how much I love tulips and he got me these for me and I tell you, it was perfect timing. The perfect pick me up right when I needed it most. Thank you, Sweetie!
3. Strawberries. They are finally here. Big and red and luscious. My favorite way to have them? Take a lovely, large red berry, dip it sour cream and then in brown sugar. MMMMM, heaven on the taste buds.

4. Quiet Time. Oh how I have enjoyed that small space of time called quiet time this week. The poor little babe in my dayhome has had a rough couple of weeks. Between cutting several teeth, ear infection, tummy issues that come with meds, poor little duffer has been pretty whiny and needy. And of course, along with his fussing the others tend to think they also need to turn up their volumes. So that blessed hour between 1 and 2 p.m. when all are laying down with not a sound in the house has been greatly appreciated by myself.

And then I go watch recoreded John & Kate episodes in the evening. LOL. Go figure. I don't get it either. One of life's little mysteries.

5. Time at the Library. I love making a trip to the library. I could get lost in there for literally hours. I find it absolutely relaxing.

So what where your favorite things from the week?

Oh poor little guy! I know how the New Boy has been this week with a cold. The tulips are beautiful--what a sweet hubby! I just had to tell you that the previous post with the dinosaur and cat cracked me up!

I know how much I enjoy doing the weekly fave fives and I know others do too. Thank you for hosting us! It's a blessing for me each week!

Happy Weekend!

I also love to eat strawberries that way. Mmmmmmmmm.....just thinking about it is lovely!

I have never ever heard of eating strawberries that way. It sounds odd to me but then again I am so not a fan of the sour cream. But I love me some Cool Whip though :)

I just purchased a big thing of strawberries too on Monday and made some strawberry apple crisp. It turned out okay but not enough to ever make it again unfortunately. Apple crisp is my very favorite dessert...yum!

I totally can't believe it's been 30 weeks, that's crazy!! I love it too even if I don't participate all the time.

Okay I just want to let you know that everytime I used that Linky thing I couldn't see my name. I did it about 3 times so I dunno what I've done wrong or if it's my computer and I apologize up front for making such a mess of it Dang...

I love doing this every week as well. It makes one realize how many little things life is made of, how much we have to be grateful for. Like that little bit of blue sky I saw when I started writing my post. It's gone now, but I added it to my list, so it's not REALLY gone.
I enjoyed your list Suzanne,I love strawberries too!

Oh and um ... thanks for following me!

I have an award for you!

I saw Thom had trouble adding his link, so I did it for him!

What beautiful flowers and what a lovely surprise!

I enjoy strawberries, too, and I'll have to try them with sour cream and brown sugar.

Wow - # 30! Way to go Suzanne. FFF has really caught on. It's one of my favourite posts of the week.

Naptime - what a blessing!

I'm going to try strawberries that way too - I just happen to have some, as well as sour cream.

I'm thankful for the library this week too - well, every week :)

Hope you get a restful weekend Suzanne!

Those flowers are amazing! And I feel bad for the little sick fella too. Poor babe. I am glad he has you to cuddle him and love on him when his mama is at work.

We have been eating lots of strawberries here too. Favorite way .. well I have two. One, dipped in white wine and powdered sugar. Two, drenched in semi-sweet chocolate. Yum and Yum.

I always get a real sense of peace when I read your lists. And 30 weeks has gone so fast! It's a great meme.

30 Weeks is quite an accomplishment. I found this through Jientje, and I think that it's really great. I'm playing too, but Mr Linky doesn't seem to like me anymore. I can't seem to get it to show up. Maybe it's trying to tell me not to play anymore. :( (But I'm still going to carry on.)

You are right about the library. I love being able to wander and pick up a book and fly away. Happy Friday, Susanne!

I'm sending you my strawberry cake recipe!

I'm so glad you do this little meme. It is a pick me up at the end of every week.
What a sweet hubby to bring you such beautiful flowers!
Libraries and book stores are my very favorite places to be! Peace and quiet and the smell of paper and ink makes me feel right at home!

What a sweet husband!

I love fresh strawberries in season!!

Poor little guy -- I can imagine how miserable he is -- and what that does to you! I know what it would do to me, anyway. I'd treasure that quiet time, too!!

Kari said...

Wow - 30 already. Gee where have I been! LOL
The flowers are beautiful, and I also love libraries. I too could spend hours upon hours there.

I am so sorry! I did NOT mean to add my name to your list. I wanted to click "comments" and ... I don't know where my mind went! Please, remove me!

Being a former librarian, one of my favorite times of the day was when I'd come in early before anyone else had come in to work and also after we'd closed the library. Having the entire library to myself was pure heaven.

What lovely flowers! Very pretty. :)

I've never ate strawberries that way..I have put regular sugar on them but not brown sugar...might have to try that.

I have to agree that this meme is one of my favorite things as well. Thanks for starting it. I'm thankful for the new friends it has introduced me to!

Gorgeous flowers, BTW! Aren't you the blessed lady!

Mmmmmm....strawberries!! And, the flowers are just gorgeous. Very nice.

I'm hooked on Jon & Kate, too. I don't know why, except maybe it makes me see my own life as very peaceful and quiet, since I have only two kids at home.

Tulips and time at the library. Oh, those are good favorites!

Barb said...

Poor baby. I jsut hate it when the baby feels awful and there's nothing you can do. Your bouquet is so sweet. Every time I see tulips I think of you now, since you told us how much you love them. :-)

I hear you about that one quiet hour every afternoon. Without it, I'd never make it through the rest of the day. LOL Wishing you a nice relaxing weekend.

Oh, I love the library too!!! So much fun to browse and read in the semi-quiet. It seems people don't know that the library is supposed to be quiet anymore... Beautiful flowers!

Hi Susanne,
I don't how else to contact you so I'm posting this message on your blog. I wrote this whole email up and just realised that the mail never got to you so here it is:
(I wrote the following last week. Sorry I'm such a goofball)

Hi Susanne,
How are you? Hope you are having a great weekend.

I liked my pedicure too. I don't like feet much, but the pedicure helps to make them look pretty!! The cost I shared is what it generally always costs here in Thailand. I'm actually amazed with myself because with the price like that I'm wondering why I don't get them often.
I've tried one of those parafin dips - and they make your hands and feet so soft. They're great but it takes time, and I hate to sit there for a long time being pampered. For some reason it doesn't sit right.

Thanks for hosting Fave Five. I'm enjoying taking part.
Be blessed this week!
