Friday's Fave Five #27

Hello, welcome. It's Friday so that means it's Fave Five. Please join us as we look back at our week and find our five favorite things from our week. If you need more details it's here. If you've done a Fave Five post don't forget to sign onto Mr. Linky so that we can come and visit! And feel free to grab the new button. Oh and by the way, if you didn't know I'm giving a book away, well I am. You can go here for that.

So on we go. Here are my faves from the week:

1. This post by my friend, Carol at She Lives. I am giving you fair warning: tissue alert!

2. My spunky new tea kettle. My old tea kettle bit the dust last week. So this is the one I got. Everytime I look at it it makes me smile. I'm not sure why. But it's just so chubby. And it's red. Red makes me smile.

3. Haircuts. I don't know about you but with my short hair it seems like all of a sudden overnight it just is too long, doesn't want to do what I want it to do, and seems blah. I can hardly wait for a hair cut at that point. And last Saturday was the day. Can everyone hear my hair go "Ahhhh"?

4. Picking a paint color and not be disappointed when it's up. This was definitely a favorite. Oh if you only knew our history with picking paint. I am so indecisive. I just like too many looks and can never make up my mind. So a highlight was for sure, getting the paint up on the wall and actually liking it.

5. Evenings. A bit of a rough week in dayhome this week. Little ones not really sick but not themselves, 2 kids with ear infections, some with busy weeks makes for more chances for emotions to run. I've been very thankful for some quiet evenings this week to relax and renew for the next day. And a nice cup of tea from the cute kettle helped in the evenings.
What have been your favorites from your week?

Good for you for getting the paint chosen. That's always one of the hardesst parts, isn't it?

I hope next week will be easier for the little ones.

Hi Susanne, first time participator here. I think it's a great idea to remember your fave five.
I love the red kettle too. And yes I like red and I like chubby. It's cute.

There is definitely something about tea (and a super cool kettle) to bring cheer to a week of sick kiddos!!! Hope they are on their way to wellness. Have a good weekend.

Haircuts!! I'll probably need one again next week or the week after that at the very latest too! I'm always glad it's done, I hate to face a mirror with that ugly black cape on! Yuck!
But I love your red kettle,it's such a cutie, no wonder it makes you smile!

The tea kettle is adorable! And I know what you mean about choosing a paint color and then being happy with it. . .its such a tough decision!

I'm so glad the room is turning out so well! I share the same angst about paint colors. When people say, "Don't worry about it -- you can always paint over it," I think, it is so much work to paint I really want to do it right the first time.

I know what you mean about a good haircut. I tend to go too long before getting one and can hardly stand it until I do.

I really enjoy evening too. Settling down the kitchen is clean and hanging out with family. It is one of the things I cherish the most with family.

Oh, I love that teakettle! Red makes me smile, too.

Hope the kidletts are feeling better next week.

Love your kettle! It would make me smile, too. I got my too long hair taken care of yesterday. I know what you mean about the hair. I hope next week goes better with your little ones and that they are healthy and well! Blessings...

Fun teakettle, I love the red! I so can't pick paint colors, I like it when a decorator friend does it for me. :)

I think I forgot to add the fave five button to my post!

And quiet evenings are a fave of mine too!

Ooh, and I love it that your kettle doesn't take a spot on the stovetop! And many congrats to picking a paint color without regret :-) Happy weekend!

I love that kettle. How cheery it is. And I sure hear you about the haircuts. I think this time of year that our hair just gets so full of static electricity that nothing seems to make it do what we want and that's why we get so frustrated with it. Sending healing thoughts to the children.

Love your new chubby red kettle - it is cute!! I'm smiling too.

Hope your daykids are feeling better soon.

And now I'm off to check your friend's post.

Hope you have a restful weekend Suzanne.

Your tea kettle is so adorable! I love a cup of hot tea at the end of a stressful day ...

I am the same way about paint! In fact, I always want to paint but I never do because choosing a color is totally overwhelming to me.

Look at that beautiful kettle. My mom is the queen of red and would be all over that. She has red accents everywhere in her kitchen.

Hope you have a much deserved relaxing weekend!

Cute little tea kettle. As much as we put the kettle on here, I'm looking for something energy efficient rather than heating up the stove each time. This may seem like a silly question, but does your teapot actually boil the water? I like mine really hot for a cup of tea.

oh, I love it when a paint selection works out!! And, man, without relaxing evenings...well, it would be hard to face the coming day! When there's tea involved, all the better!! TGIF

Hooray for shiny new tea kettles (I love the color!) and quiet evenings.

Have a great week!

I love that teapot! It is so happy!
Red is my favorite color too.

Picking a paint color and actually liking it is out of the realm of possibility for me. We painted our bathroom several times last winter and I just haven't had the heart to tackle our livingroom. :-)

We've been enjoying quiet evenings at our house this winter too. I'm really ready for spring in some ways, but I will miss the dark, cozy, restful evenings once summer hits.

love the tea kettle and I know just what you mean about the hair. Mine is trying to grow out but i am getting weary of the process so just might give up and go really cropped! sorry I didn't do the fave 5 yesterday, have been busy with so much stuff at work, home the girls, FB. will get back to blogging today and definitely the FF next week! love the new button!!

Your new tea kettle is so cute! I haven't seen those yet, but it kind of makes me wish mine would bite the dust. And I hear you about the haircut, when your hair is short. One minute my hair is just fine, and the next it's a disaster and I can't do a thing with it. I love haircuts. :-)

Very nice list, Susanne. Wishing you lots of relaxing evenings.
