Friday's Fave Five #9

Hi! Welcome to Friday's Fave Five. If you are new to us you can find how it works here. Please join on in. This is so uplifting to visit all of you and see what tickled your fancies this past week. Don't forget to sign on to Mr. Linky so that we can do just that.

This was a rough last week for me, but in spite of that there was something fave things from my week that can be picked out.

Number 1 is the deal I got at Linen's 'n Things. I have a friend whose daughter is getting married this weekend. I didn't have a whole lot to spend. I went into Linen's 'n Things as sort of a last minute trip. Lo and behold right up front were these beautiful stainless steel turkey roasters complete with lid and lift out tray, the kind of which I already own and love. And here is the best part. Regular $69.99. On sale, 'cause it's Canadian Thanksgiving and all, for $29.99. And if that doesn't rock my world enough, I had a 20% off coupon! As the kids would say...SCORE!

2. School chocolate bar sales. I know, I know, I go broke when the case of this stuff comes home, and I eat way too many, but it's all for the sake of helping out my kid. Right?

3. Cool Weather drinks. It's been a bit chilly around these parts this week, so the cold weather drinks have made an appearance at my house in the evenings. Chai teas with hot steamed milk, herbal teas sweetened with a touch of honey, hot apple ciders and hot chocolates. Love them all. Somehow it such a cozy, secure thing for me to have hot mug of goodness curled up on the couch with a current read in the evenings.

4. Making plans with my oldest to get her home for this weekend for Thanksgiving. Have I mentioned Kay is coming home today?! I can hardly wait for this afternoon!

5. Isaiah 49:15 -16 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; hyou walls are ever before me."

In leiu of everything happening this week with my back and in the markets and the world I just find this scripture so reassuring and peace giving. To know you and I are engraved into God's mighty, capable and powerful hands and that our walls, whatever they might be, are always before Him is very comforting. Even when everything swirls with uncertainity around us we can know we without a doubt that we matter to God and that He will never forget us. He is there if we but call upon His name.

So what are your favorite things from this past week?

Oh dear. Not quite sure why everyone is getting a big old red "x" behind their names but the links still work! Thank goodness!

Sheesh, something's messing with my head. The "x"'s are gone. Carry on as usual! :v)

Hi- I'm jumping on board!
I LOVE that verse you shared at the end of your post - very reassuring indeed. It doesn't matter what happens around us - our future is as secure as can be because of HIM.
Thanks for the great reminder.

What a great buy!!

I don't like hot tea much -- I wish I did, as there is such a variety. My I love my plain decaf coffee on cool days.

Love the verse and thoughts you posted.

Have fun with Kay!!
