Hello and welcome to Friday's Fave Five! If you are new here, you can find out all about it here.
Before we begin, there is a little housekeeping for those who used the Add a Button code from the sidebar. It has decided to take a vacation. So if you'd like the button for your sidebar and don't know how to link it you can go here for a quick & easy explanation if you are on Blogger. If you are on another platform please use their uploading system. I'll try and get another one. For your post, just copy and paste right from here if you'd like! Please make sure you link back here.
Anyhoo onto the fun stuff. This weeks Fave Five!
1. The cutest foods I've seen in awhile: I love looking through food blogs and seeing the creative foods that people come up with. And these two just totally made me smile. You gotta go see these cute hot dogs and these most adorable fall cookies ever. Now how fun would this be for kids. Very creative.
2. A favorite quote comes from one of my dayhome kidlets. After gobbling up a lunch of rotini pasta with meat sauce he declared with sauce all over his face: "Your the best cooker in the world." I love that kid! For someone who shows love with the food I prepare that meant the world.
3. Having tea with my Mom. Tia's violin lessons are only a couple blocks from where my Mom lives and it was so nice to have a nice hot tea (black cherry berry for me!) and chat with her about all sorts of stuff.
4. A few minutes alone just to browse the book store. I totally love to do this and find it totally relaxing. With a nice little coffee shop there, for me, it is a perfect place to unwind. And to find a deal makes it a bonus. My copy of this book was starting to look like it was falling apart and I found a brand new copy for half price. Yipee!
5. The ambiance of a fireplace, even if it is a phony baloney electric one. LOL. I just love turning the lights down a bit and having that going in the evenings now that the evenings are cooled right off. Nothing like sitting all snuggled up with a warm drink, the "fire" and a good book.
Now it's your turn. What was your favorite five things from the week? Don't forget to come back and link your specific Friday Fave Five post from today in the Mr. Linky. We'd all like to come and read and get to know you.

how precious...you must have read This Present...many times or borrowed it alot. Sitting my a fire place with a cup of that tea sounds divine. I've never heard of that kind but sounds so yummy! Moms & kids make the whole world go 'round! Thanks for starting Friday out with such a fantastic 5!
Thanks for hosting & posting so I can go to bed! Enjoy! I sure do!
I know what you mean about showing love through food. Sometimes words are hard to find during a rough situation but something you made whether it's a cake, casseroles, or salad definitely says "I'm thinking of you". I can imagine how that made your day.
kids say such sweet things sometimes :)
I love books as you know and that book shop sounds very nice
have a nice weekend my friend
Jen
I've never bought a book twice. I guess that means you read it more than once,
It's true kids say the sweetest things..I imagine tea with your Mom was lovely..
I've joined the fun--my first time!
Oh I love that "You're the best cooker in the world" :0)
Fun fives Susanne. I love to sit by our gas fireplace thingies too. It's great that you are so close to your mom that you can pop in for a cup of tea!
Ellen's cookies are great! And a new cooking site - thanks - I bookmarked that one.
I remember one of my little ones saying the very same thing - it warms the heart doesn't it?
Browsing at a bookstore - I love that too. As long as I don't buy.I copy down the titles that look good and try to get them at the library.
We have the real fire here - a necessity since it's our major source of heat. It's so cozy in the evenings!
Have a great weekend Suzanne!
I love this idea, it's exactly what I was looking for. thanks for hosting it!
Love all your Fave Five! The mummies were adorable and you know I love my sister's cookies!
Bookstores are a great escape and I love reading by the fire.
Have a great weekend!
Great list Susanne!
I love time with my mom too....something about mothers and daughters.
Hi, Susanne. I just discovered your sight after clicking a link over at Peggy's for Friday's Fave Five. This looks like so much fun.. I may join in sometime soon. What a great way to look positively at the week!
Have a great weekend!
I participated for the first time this week in FFF!
Great favorite things from this week for you! I may have to try the "browsing the bookstore." Haven't taken the time to do that in a while. Thanks for the reminder! And the tea visit with your mom sounds great!
Enjoy your weekend!
Blessings,
~Jada
Those little mummy hotdogs are adorable. I swear, some people are just so creative - I'd never think of something like that.
I'd be perfectly happy with a phoney baloney electric fireplace. When the lights are dimmed, it looks and feels like the real deal. I'd love to have a fireplace. The closest I can get is standing in front of my open oven door. Not quite the same. LOL
Happy Halloween, Susanne!
Mmmmmm.... time alone in a bookstore - nearest thing to heaven that I know of!
Have a wonderful weekend!
We have a phoney fireplace too but I don't care either, it's so comforting regardless. Love it!
I'm flying out tomorrow but will still try and check in once and awhile while I'm gone.
Pray for me!!
I enjoyed your favs sweetie.
I totally missed out on this and everything else bloggy this Friday -- I had to discipline myself not to open Google Reader or my blog til I got a newsletter done for our ladies group.
Those little mummy hot dogs are just darling.
Kids are so sweet and honest in their praise! Congratulations on being such good cooker!
You're so fortunate to have your mom close by.
That reminds me I have a coupon for Barnes and Noble...I need to go have a look around! I haven't read that Peretti book for ages but I remember being riveted by it.
This is such a fun idea Susanne! I need to write it down so I do it next Friday:)
Those turkey cookies are so cute!!!!
Wish we could browse together.
You probably are one of the best cookers! I'm sure that a few minutes alone anywhere would be a good thing, but especially those minutes in a bookstore. And I love our fireplace, even if we haven't had a chance to burn anything yet. :o)
Those hot dogs & cookies are wonderful! And actually all 5 of your things do sound terrific.
