Did Ya Hear That?

Ssshhh! Did you hear that? No neither did I. All I heard was silence, the sound of peace and quiet. I can't remember the last time I heard that. I forgot what it was like. And it was actually in my house this weekend. Now that's a switch.

The two teens were off camping with youth group and Miss Tweenie was sleeping at a friend's. We went to church with no kids. Weird. We had lunch on the deck by ourselves. Wonderful but strange. I read more than 2 pages and finished a whole cup of HOT coffee. Amazing.

But you gotta know, I was checking my watch wondering when they were getting home. Silence was golden, but your family around is platinum. Once a mom, always a mom. And once they arrived in the door, all was back to normal. What was that you said? Sorry, couldn't hear you over the kids.

Wow, I can't imagine. I haven't finished a cup of hot coffee in four years - despite the fact that I really need one.

Glad you enjoyed your mini vacation and that you cherish your little ones.

Once a Mom, always a Mom - ain't it the truth.

Glad you had some time to yourself and that the kids got in safely!
You sound like such a good mom!

That's hilarious. I know what you mean. My favorite silence is when I know everyone's here, but sleeping. Silence of being alone is overrated.

That's me this whole summer! It is so weird to not have the kids running in and out, up and down the stairs, arguing about something trivial... I'll be glad to get them back later. In the meantime, I'm keeping myself busy doing all the stuff I couldn't do if they were around - like cleaning out their drawers and painting rooms.

Love that quote! And with three little ones, I'm swimmin' in platinum! :D

shalee: I can't imagine. If you need help staying busy you can come & help me do some stuff. I'll keep you so busy they'll be back before you know it. And I'll even give you all the coffee you can drink. How 'bout it?

Hi Susanne--I've been by your site a couple of times, but today is a rainy day, and I am catching up on your earlier posts.

Anyway--all that to say, yes, what is it about being a mom and having to let you coffee sit there and get cold!
