Friday Feast

Appetizer
What is your favorite type of art?
I think probably music would be the #1 choice. It's what has the power to move me the most.

Soup
When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?
Last week Tuesday our pastor and his lovely wife took my husband and I out for dinner so that we could meet good friends of theirs from out of town. These friend's daughter became good friends with my daughter when they were on the same drama/dance team during their summer training.

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how emotional are you?
Twenty seven days of the month I'd say about a 7.5 or 8. Three days of the month, I'd say, oh, 15.

Main Course
Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails?
I don't get a lot of emails except those that come through as comments from the blog. But some days are more fun when I get to email back and forth with a few blogging friends.

Dessert
To what temperature do you usually set your home’s thermostat?
Summertime with the airconditioning around 77 or 76. Winter time with the heat, anywhere from 69 - 72 depending on the weather. And of course, it depends who is doing the setting, me or hubby.

Friday Feast #156 - #2 for me

Appetizer:
Describe your laundry routine. Do you have a certain day when you do it all, or do you just wash whatever you need for the next day?

I don't exactly have a routine. I'm the "throw a load in as soon as you have one" type of person. With 3 teens, if I left it for one specific day, that's all I'd be doing that day. So I throw one in as soon as there is a full load. I work at home so I think this is a bit easier for me. Then when I'm downstairs, I throw it in the dryer. Repeat as needed. I fold as it's ready, too. Then everytime I go upstairs I grab a folded pile from the top of the dryer and bring it up.

Soup:
In your opinion, what age will you be when you’ll consider yourself to truly be old?

Ah, a very hard question to answer. I guess I don't really think in terms of the specific age. AI don't know what exactly says to me old age but I know it's not a number. My mom just turned 75 and I still don't think of her as old. Dave's uncle was 92 last year, and up until the last time I saw him the word "old" did not get put together with him in my mind. He was still vital, and fairly strong and full of life. He's declined a lot this last year and now it's beginning to be associated in my mind that he truly is getting old.

As for me, there are some days I feel old now. Days when I don't have quite the same energy, or my knees ache, or I don't feel like going anywhere in the evenings anymore like I used to. I feel old when I can't be quite as spontaneous because my first reaction is "I can't because I have "x, y, z, I have to get done". But then there are times when I'd love to jump in and do fun stuff like my kids are doing like going tubing or waterslides and most days I never think of how old I am. Birthdays don't now and have never depressed me. I really don't think about it. And I'm rambling which says I really don't know how to answer this one.

Salad:
What is one of your goals? Is it short-term, long-term, or both?

One of my goals, definitely long term is to see my kids grow into adulthood loving and serving God. Now I know ultimately, I have no control over that, they have free wills, but I can do everything in my power to pass on how much God loves them and has a plan for their lives. So I guess that's long term. Short term would be to go on a nice trip for our 25th Anniversary next year.

Main Course:
Name something unbelievable you’ve seen or read lately.

My 17 year old getting up every morning this week before 7:30 to go volunteer at the food bank. A teenager. Up that early. On her summer holidays. Of her own accord. Unbelievable!

Dessert:
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how happy are you today?

I'm not awake enough to tell. Ask me after another cup of coffee or 3.

Friday Feast #147 (but #1 for me)

Appetizer
What do you consider to be the ultimate snack food?

I'll eat pizza anytime. Love it. Chips and dip are right up there too.

Soup
On a scale of 1 - 10 (with 1 being the highest), about how popular is your last name?

Probably 2 - 3

Salad
Who is your all time favorite sitcom character and why?

Dr. Cliff Huxtable from the Cosby Show. I just thought this was a great character. He was a very smart learned man yet kept his boyish charm and antics, he loved his wife and family dearly and showed it, he let his marriage truly be a team, he handled situations with humor yet was not afraid to be the parent, he showed his failings every once in a while.

Main Course
Do you shop online? If so, name some sites you like to browse for goodies.

I don't really browse online. Really the only thing I personally order is from Crossings Book Club online, but I don't really browse the site as I get the catalog and then just go online and order.

Dessert
Fill in the blank: I think __________________ should be ______________.

I think I should be sleeping.
