Hello and welcome to Friday's Fave Five. Last weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving and while it was wonderful to have an official holiday to remind us to be thankful, I love that this group intentionally makes it a part of their everyday. While a thanksgiving holiday can give us wonderful feelings in the moment that we can say a quick thank you for, intentional daily gratitude is a lifestyle, a way to navigate life, our compass when there are difficult times. Please join us a we develop and work to maintain this attitude of consistent gratitude for the good things in our lives.
~ family gathered ~ I ususally host Thanksgiving and this year my two kids from Calgary came and my sister's family. Unfortunately my oldest had to work. But it was really nice to have those who could come gathered together over a delicious meal. Unfortunately, I did not take one single solitary picture.
~ turkey dinner ~ We love turkey dinner at our house and it is a great blessing that, once again, we were able to have it. This year Hubby decided he wanted to try an organic, free range, ethically raised turkey that a meat shop, who are his clients, were getting in for Thanksgiving. Oh my goodness, was it ever good. We added homemade cranberry sauce, whipped potatoes, spaghetti squash, carrots/parsnips, stuffing and my gravy. I make a delicious gravy if I do say so myself. My sister bought a cake and a pumpkin pie to round it all off.
~ ladies small group ~ I finally was able to attend my ladies group this week after missing out since they started up again after summer break. It's just been so busy with Operation Christmas Child also gearing up at the same time. It was nice to be back and studying God's Word together with my group. It's nice to have a break but so good to be back at it.
~ back to nice weather ~ after 2 days of snow over the Thanksgiving weekend I'm happy to report it has all melted and we are back to some gorgeous sunny fall weather again!
~ knee feeling good ~ I was a bit worried about how my knee would feel after two days of being on my feet cooking. The last thing I wanted was to push it into another flare up. But it made it through and was feeling pretty good and I am very thankful for all help throughout that was given to me. I made sure to wear my brace and good runners and made myself take breaks. It all worked toward a no pain weekend.
What were you're blessings you were grateful for this past week?

Hi Susanne, Happy Thanksgiving! I am glad you could go back to your study group. Ours ended the week before I left to Israel. I have read most of Lysa T. books. I will be helping out with Operation Christmas Child too!
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm glad your knee wasn't bothering you and that you were able to enjoy your company. I am looking forward to our Thanksgiving down here. Homemade cranberry sauce sounds delish!
I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving and so much of your family could be there. And yay for no knee pain during and after! It's great you could get back to Bible study. So often, others in the group bring out things I missed in my own reading. And I am glad the snow has melted and your back to fall weather!
Sounds like the loveliest of thanksgiving celebrations and very nice that it was pain free for you. Have a wonderful weekend.
The dinner sounds scrumptious! dave is known for his vegan stuffing (made with veggie broth vs the turkey broth) and even the meat lovers love it. He also makes a good gravy although my grandma M's was the best! I'll bet yours is amazing!
SNOW??!! Oh heck no girl. I'm barefoot with windows open today in the northeast cause the morning ended and it's a glorious sunny afternoon. I may not need the treadmill after all!
LOVE all of these blessings especially that your knee pain is gone. Glory be to God!
Love that statement from Simplicity Habit. So true!
You already got snow??? Wow. I'm glad with you that the real autumn weather is back.
Happy Thanksgiving to you! Family gathered around the table is the best. And good gravy-- yum!
Belated Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Sounds like you had a lovely gathering and so glad that you were pain free from your knee. Snow already? Brr. We've had some quite mild days this week mixed with some rain. Have a good weekend.
Yes, I thought the same -- that FFF is such a wonderful way to Thanksgiving every week.
How lovely that you got to host with so much of your family able to be with you and enjoy all that glorious food. I want to hear more about this marvelous gravy :-)
Snow! Weren't we just remarking how nice it was you could go for hikes and... your yoyo weather. We are having it, too, though not in the same direction! Rain last week, 95F and extremely gusty Santa Anas, rain next week.
We of course had no thanksgiving to celebrate, as our ancestors stayed in Europe ! I probably can't participate this week, as my computer plays "Trump" and I can't get access to my dashboard again. I wonder if he hasn't bought Blogger shares ! It all turns crazy !
Happy Thanksgiving! Your celebration sounds lovely. And delicious! I am glad you had a nice time with your family.
