Hello and welcome to Friday's Fave Five. We're taking our Friday pause to look back over the week for the blessings God brings to our lives. Please join in with us as we develop our gratefulness. Everything's ok but due to circumstances beyond my control I will be joining in later . Please go ahead and link your posts and I'll catch up with you all!
Finally able to jump on here to post my favorite blessings from the week. It's been a very busy, chaotic week but I don't want to miss the intentionality of taking that pause from the crazy to be able to be grateful.
~ gorgeous weather ~ it has been insanely beautiful weather here this week. Like no jackets, spring clothes weather. One of the dayhome parents jokingly asked if he should send sunscreen. We're taking advantage of every moment we can outdoors soaking it in. Though appreciative of it, on the other hand I'm praying for moisture because it is scary dry. We've already had 2 major fires in the coulees that came way too close to the neighborhoods along the edge of the hills and entered the cemetary. Thankful for hard working fire departments!!
~ great sermon series ~ Sunday's message was really good and made for great discussion at mid-week bible study as we hashed out how to apply it practically in our individual, everyday lives. All the messages in this series they have been doing have been really good and really practical. I like that the bible studies are given the outline and questions to take us deeper in a smaller group where we can ask questions and talk out when we question something that was said.
~ dinner out with a great couple ~ Friday evening we had dinner out at a great East Indian restaurant with a fun couple that we haven't seen in a very long time. It was really nice catching up with them and have good conversation, lots of laughs and amazing food.
~ puzzle started ~ last weekend Hubby and I finally broke out the puzzle we were gifted for Christmas. It is a wooden puzzle with cool shapes none of which match each other. Some pieces resemble something that goes with the picture of the puzzle. For example, ours is a prairie sky scene with farm house and barns. Some of the puzzle pieces are shaped like geese flying, birds, farm tools, milk cans and some of the pieces fit together to make an image of the artist playing a guitar. I am not a puzzler, so this was really throwing me off the deep end in the puzzle world. But it turned out to be a fun activity to do together even though we have to carefully pack it up on Sunday night so the dayhome kids don't get into it. There is nowhere to leave it out, so we'll carefully bring the flats back up to the kitchen table tonight for the weekend. It's an absolutely gorgeous puzzle but it's gonna take awhile.
~ birdsong ~ with the gorgeous weather the birds in all the trees surrounding our house have been putting on a concert and I am here for it!
What were your favorite blessings of the week?

Thanks for posting the link Susanne. Hope everything is ok with you.
Will pop back in later to read your post. Susanne. Hope all is well.
Puzzles totally stress me out hahaha and sometimes make my neck crick which then brings on one of the CGHeadaches. Yet for some reason I can sit with my laptop on a couch pillow and play the Times games and Linked in Games. I especially like Tango and Queens and Strands, Wordle and Pinpoint.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED reading The Frozen River. Omgoodness that was one of the best books I read last year...or maybe it was 2024.....SO good. The one I'm reading now is slow but good and sad.....and a memoir I wanted to like I'm going to be returning because it's way too heavy of a topic and since i had students dealing with domestic violence, being trafficked or used for s*x by family members, I said NOpe. Going back to the library on Monday. I don't need this......
I hope WE here in eastern New York get some milder temps next week cause this weekend starting tonight is supposed to hit some record lows for our area at this time of the calendar year. I'm loving the snow but this deep cold is doing me in. Plus I'm outdoorsy and alhtough I walked today, the rest of the weekend is just gonna be another one to stay in. thankful for HEAT and BLANKEts and BOOKS!!
Happy weekend, Susanne
I hope you are staying warm now. At least you had lovely weather earlier. Like Faith, I am having record lows. We've resorted to walking in the mall; it's just too cold outside.
What will you do with the puzzle when you are finished? Glue it together and hang it on the wall?
Yay for warmer weather and being able to take the kids outside! I do hope you get some needed moisture soon, though.
In one church we used to attend, the Bible study group discussed the passage that was preached on. At first I thought, why go over it again? But we always got more out of it. It makes sense that there is more to a passage than can be mined in one 20-30 minute sermon.
Glad you had a nice dinner out and got to catch up with friends. I've seen those puzzles advertised. We're not puzzle people, but it was intriguing to see all the parts shaped like objects instead of random pieces.
Willow, the other day we set a record high of 20*C (68*F). And we were the first in Canada to reach that temp for 2026! It's crazy warm but it's supposed to drop some this week. As far as the puzzle goes we're going to pass it on to my son & gf and then to others we know who puzzle. It's got a cute card in it to add you name and date when you finish it. Looks like the old library book lending cards.
We have been in a high fire risk, too. It’s so early in the year for that. Today it’s warm and quite windy. That puzzle is amazing! A friend had one like it years ago, and I worked on it for a while with her. It blew my brain, haha! I love the idea that there’s a card to record your name and date. That makes it fun.
