Friday is here and it's time to pause and reflect on what blessings have touched our everyday lives over the last week. Won't you join in on this journey of perspective and gratefulness?
Some of my favorite blessings from the last week are pretty simple ones but no less important to be thankful for them.
~ children's innocent comments ~ Last week we got our lawn aerated and the next day when the dayhome kids walked out the back door for play, one of them with their eyes big as saucers, couldn't hold back with the comment: "Look at all the dog p**p on your grass!" I laughed all day over that one. The laughter their innocent comments brings cannot be underestimated and I'm thankful for them.
~ flower shopping with Sis ~ "What happens at the garden center stays at the garden center" is our mantra as we go for our yearly flower shopping. We both love planting flowers each spring and look forward to our sister day of shopping for them.
~ lilacs ~ Oh what can I say about the lovely blooms and the incredible fragrance? It's a blessing to have a bouquet grace the table. God is an artist and the best perfumer!
~ morning sunshine ~ I am so not a morning person, so to be able to be getting up to brighter or sunny mornings is a real blessing. It just wakes me up better and gets me going quicker.
~ peaceful, relaxed Sunday ~ we decided, seeing it was a long weekend here in Canada, to have a really relaxed Sunday. I watched the church service online with a nice cup of coffee and in my jammies, read some of my book. It was raining outside so we just hung around the house and did a few things here and there. It was a perfect rejuvenating type of day.
What were your favorite blessings from the last week?

Kids can say the funniest things! How neat to go flower shopping with your sister. The lilacs are lovely. The sunshine is a good motivator to get up. We grew up in churches with Sunday evening services in addition to Sunday morning. The last two churches we've attended have not had Sunday evening services, and Sundays seem so much more restful when we can come home, eat lunch, and relax the rest of the day.
Young children are so much fun, aren't they??!!
Glad you had some relaxing time.
I'm just home from NM and just got up. Time change threw me off so no i don't have a FFF for the first time in a LONG time. I'll try to get some coffee in me, shower, and do up a first couple of days in NM post at some point today. Loved all the blessings you list and I can just smell those lilacs!! SO pretty
Haha, love that comment by one of your 'littles'. Now it is our turn to have a long weekend. Blessings!
ROFL!!!! That's hilarious! Kids... gotta love 'em. Beautiful lilacs! Thank you for sharing and making me laugh today.
Kids can say the funniest things! Isn't it nice to have the option to watch church from home when we need to. Those flowers are so pretty!
Thanks for hosting—this makes my Friday! 😊
I laughed out loud at the “dog p**p” moment—kids say the best things.
Loved your slow Sunday too—coffee, rain, and a book sounds just perfect. 🌸☕📖
Your dogs are very orderly in the way they put their p**p around :) Do you write down all the funny things your littles say?
I'm not going to admit to the number of trips I have made to the garden nurseries this spring. But I "needed" all those plants and things.
I'm glad you had a slow Sunday. Sometimes we just need a slow day. Or weekend.
The lovely smell of the lilacs just jumped off the page. Beautiful!
Kids are so funny, lol! I love their perspective.
Your Sunday sounds perfect. We are settled in for a quiet weekend here.
You could probably write a book with all the kids' comments in it lol. Those lilacs are stunning and of course you needed everything you may have bought at the garden centre. Glad you had a nice outing with your sister and yes sometimes a lazy day at home is just what's needed too. Have a good week Susanne. We've been busy with school fetes and a family wedding so didn't get to post this week.
