Friday's Fave Five #836

Welcome Friday and to Friday's Fave Five.  The week has been busy, it seems to have flown by and here we are at Friday once again.  Time to take a breath, slow down and take the focus off the busy and put it onto remembering my blessings over the past week and taking the time to be grateful to God.  Please join with us in developing lives of thankfulness.

~ siding finished ~ the new siding was finished on Wednesday and I'm so pleased.  The crew worked fast finishing the job in 5 consecutive working days.  That in itself was a blessing since some quotes we had gave us a timeline of 2 months!  I love the color we chose and I'm so glad we no longer have to paint the exterior of this house.

~ generous neighbor ~ my wonderful neighbor, who also has a childcare, graciously offered to have my dayhome come and play at her house daily this week for our outside time.  The kids had a great time playing with her kids.  It also got us out of the noise for awhile and got us outside into the beautiful weather.  I'm so grateful for her generosity.

~ mini egg ice cream ~ we enjoyed a yummy treat from our favorite ice cream shop, Mini Egg Ice Cream.  They make it for Easter month so we made sure we secured a pint or two as last year we missed out.  It's so good.

~ Sister support ~ I'm super thankful to have a sister whom I can talk things over with and bounce ideas off of.  She lives in my city so she's close by and I don't take for granted the blessing that is.  We don't always see eye to eye and we're very different from each other but I'm so glad we have each other.

~ time spent with friends ~ the last week I've been able to spend a little time with a friend, talk with another friend through texts, and have a supper date planned for this week with another friend.  Friends hold a special place and I'm grateful for the times I have with them sharing conversation and laughter.

What were the blessings in your life this last week?

Always nice to get big projects finished and how kind of your neighbour to let the kids play there. I'm sure that reduced some of your pressure this week. You are indeed fortunate to have a sister. I don't but I have cousins I'm close to and of course I married into a large family and acquired 6 great SILs. Have a restful weekend Susanne.

time spent with a sister and friends is truly a blessing. My sisters all live within 1-2 hours from me and we are all Christ followers although we don't always see eye to eye either. But sisterhood is truly a blessing whether biological sisters or sisters in Christ...or both!

LOVE that your neighbor and you joined together with your daycare kiddoes. That's so fun for both the adults and the children!

All of the homes in our neighborhood have siding but the only downside to siding we have found is that it does get moldy/mildew-y after a long wet winter. We need to power wash the north side of our house as the blue siding now looks like it has a green tint haha

Glad yours went up fast! which color did you pick?

I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing weekend.

How nice to have the siding finished so quickly. And to have the option to combine daycare play time sometimes. It's great to have a sister so close by. I'm glad you had time with friends this week in various formats.

Woohoo for siding being completed! How nice to have a supportive and thoughtful neighbor. I'm sure it's reciprocated. Enjoy your May weekend!

Your generous neighbor really stood out to me — what a gift to have someone nearby who not only understands your situation but also shares space and joy with the kids. That kind of kindness makes such a difference.

I'm joining in with FFF this time too (thankful for that) — slowing down a bit and reflecting helps me 💛Thanks

TWO MONTHS?? Wow. So glad your siding was done in significantly less time!

That is a wonderful blessing to have a sister close at hand, and one that you're close to and can share with. There's so much estrangement in families.

What a lovely week of connection with your friends of all kinds.

It's so nice that you have that big project finished, and I'll bet it looks great! It sounds like a nice week for you.
The book on your sidebar caught my eye -- When the World Fell Silent. When we were in Halifax last fall, we learned about the story of the explosion, and also how the cities of Halifax and Boston formed a special relationship during that time. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the book.
