Friday's Fave Five #391

Welcome to the first FFF of August!  I can't believe the summer is half over already.  At least the way I think of summer.  Come September 1, I already think of that as fall even though technically there is 3 weeks to go of summer.  Anyway, moving on to FFF.  Please join us as we reflect on the blessings in our lives from the past week.

1.  Back to the gym.  Though we did do lots of walking on our vacation, it was nice to get back to a routine where I actually challenged my muscles a bit.  I was so laid back on vacation that I was good and ready to get to it.

2.  Quiet evenings have been appreciated this week by me.  The transition back to work always is a bit tough with getting my sleep hours back to routine.  The quiet evenings have been wonderful to just get things like laundry done, and get organized for work.  That is going to end with a very full week coming up so I was very thankful for this opportunity of easing into busyness.

3.  Star Trek with friends.  Before we went on vacation we made a movie date with good friends who also like the new Star Trek franchise movies.  Coffee before and lots of popcorn later, we enjoyed the show and the company.

4.  Coconut Mocha Macchiato from Starbucks.  This is one of their newer summer drinks and I discovered it just before holidays.  I get mine half sweet and it is just delicious.  And cold.  Yum.  I've been trying to be a very good girl and only get them as a once in awhile treat as I'm really trying to cut way back on my sugar intake, but sometimes I just have to treat myself.

5.  Short work weeks.  Monday was a holiday so that makes this a short work week.  Gotta love those.  Especially when the weekend will be busy.  I'll be helping out my friend prep some stuff tonight for her daughter's wedding tomorrow.  It's in their gorgeous backyard so there is lots to be done.  Our girls were friends as teens and I can hardly believe the both of them are married this year.  Time does fly and the whole thing is making me feel a bit nostalgic.

What were your favorite blessings this week?  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend doing things you love and being with folks you love.

Yeah, getting back to the routine both great and hard. I hope you're adjusted now. I'm sure the Starbuck's macchiato helped.
Enjoy the wedding! What a great celebration!

Yay for getting yourself back to your work lits after a wonderful vacation. I was lazy most of this week due to home projecys so hiking tomorrow is going to be a challenge for me unless i get on my fitness ball tonight!

inwrote about that new drink from starbucks too for my fff!!! isnt it great? i ask for a half pump of the chocolate/caramel because of the sugar content. even then it is still sweet. I love that they make it with coconut milk....usually i have to ask for that kind.

enjoy that wedding!!

I feel the exact same way about the start of fall - I always think of fall starting Sept. 1 (some of our leaves are turning already) even though officially it's not autumn for 3 or so weeks after that.

I've been hit and miss with the gym, too, just from having other things to do during the time I can go, and in a short while we'll have family in, so it may be a while before I can get regular at it again. Even though in one sense I hate to spend the time, in another I really do feel better physically when I go.

I love quiet evenings any time, but especially after a busy time or vacation. Glad you've been able to ease back into the work schedule.

We haven't seen the newest Star Trek film but have loved the other two and are looking forward to it.

How fun to have a friend's daughter getting married in the same year as your daughter! I can understand feeling nostalgic.

I'm with you on September 1st being what I consider the beginning of fall. In fact, I usually put up my fall decorations that first week of September, even though it is technically still summer.

Good for you on getting back to the gym. I have never been a gym girl, but I do walk and/or jog. How easy it is to get out of the routine. So kudos to you for getting back at it.

Quiet evenings are great. Especially now, as it begins to get darker earlier, we will be able to enjoy quiet evenings more.

Ah, the wedding of a daughter...a beautiful, but emotional time. At least it was emotional for me. My daughter got married last October.

I don't do Starbucks very often, but that drink sounds totally yummy.

I hope to link up today. I missed last week, and after participating for a few weeks, missing left a blogging void for me.

Blessings,
Patti

You can get half sugar on those drinks? Cool! I like many of them, but they are too sweet for me. And coconut, too. Swoon!

Sounds like you are resuming your nonvacation life with grace, even during a busy time. Hope all goes beautifully for your friend tomorrow!

Great list. I'm not a coffee drinker so staying away from all the specials is easy for me. Enjoy the wedding.

I saw the Sbux drink on Faith's post, too, so now I have to go try it. I'll do half the sweetener, good idea:)

I admire your commitment to the gym. It's not easy, even when it became a habit, it was one that I had to fight with all the time.

Thanks so much for continuing to do FFF, Susanne, it's such a great exercise for me! Some weeks are hard, but that's when I need it most.

Sounds like a wonderful week! A short work week, quiet evenings, and a wedding? And to top it off with a coffee drink that you like so much! (It does sound really good!)

Enjoy the wedding!
