Friday's Fave Five #316

Hi everyone!  Welcome to  Friday's Fave Five.  It's that day of the week to look back and take note of those things that were blessings in our weeks.  Please join in!

A note about commenting once again.  If anyone is interested, Gattina has figured out that to fix that commenting issue of some people not being able to comment on a certain format, if you want to change your format just go into your blogger settings, then into "posts and comments" and then choose "pop-up window".    Thanks Gattina.

1.  Some really neat photos on this post.  One of these fine years I would love how to do that.

2.  Purging frenzy continues.  The big purge continues.  I've just been on a rampage going through my storage areas, playroom, craft room and closets and getting rid of everything I no longer wear, use or love.  I've even been able to get rid of lots of items that in past purges just have not been able to let go.  This year they are gone.  I've done about 4 big bags and/or boxes that have gone to the second hand store.  Anything not suitable to that hit the garbage can.  And I haven't looked back.  I've got a big box of books that are going to visit the second hand book store tomorrow.  It feels so good to actually have that space on my shelves.  My kitchen cupboards are going to be next.  They were done a couple of years ago when we reno'd the kitchen but I'm sure they could use it again.  It's amazing how things I don't really use creep in there.

3.  Hot teas on cold nights.  This week I've been enjoying some nice herbal teas I've forgotten I had.  I don't drink coffee past a certain time in the day due to the caffienne and a pesky little thing it does with my sleep at night.  And I also don't have a taste for coffee when I'm not feeling well, so the herbal teas have been very satisfying.  Black cherry, peppermint, lemon meringue, coconut vanilla.  Yum!

4.  Warm scarves and gloves that keep me toasty warm when I have to go out.  It's been a chilly week here in Southern Alberta so I love digging out my nice warm knitted items.

5.  Warm weather coming this weekend.  Yes, our weather is a bit extreme.  This weekend we will be well above freezing yet again.  So by today all the snow that blew in last weekend should be gone.  I'll take it.  It's nice to get out in the sunshine and warmth every chance we get before the next cold spell.  Winter is not yet over here so I'll take advantage.

What were your favourites this week?

Wow, you really are on a run with that purging of unwanted/unneeded stuff! And the good feeling feeds the purge -- yay!

Glad you have all the tools to weather those up and down temperatures of your climate.

As for that photography? Very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing your experiments!

Those photographs are amazing! Makes me want to travel the world.

I love a good purge! Makes me feel so powerful, like I can do anything. We're due for another one at our house.

I'm not a big fan of herbal tea, but the coconut vanilla sounds really good. I enjoy having a cup of tea in the evenings.

We too are anticipating the 67* temps coming this weekend! Oh how wonderful it will be! :) Hope you get to enjoy. I'm going to open the windows in the rooms that I am cleaning and allow some of that fresh air to clean out the "winter"!

I wished I had a purging frenzy, but I have a lack of energy at least for that, so I wait until the moment comes ! Don't ask me in which year !

oh i love purging and cleaning through stuff. I did a month cure of my house and it feels good. I got rid of unnecessary things (stuff) in my house and it feels so good. The rest of your Fave five tells me it's winter alright. Stay warm!!

So glad you were able to let a lot of things that tend to clutter go. I've done a little of that this year and it does feel good. Yippee for your warmer weather coming this weekend.

Congrats on purging!!! I've been in a purging mode myself. It sure feels good. And while I have a ways to go, I am proud of the start I've taken.

Stay well.

Such fantastic photos! I've done a bit of long-exposure while taking shots of waterfalls. It's a cool technique.

Good for you with the purging. I'm also doing it but having trouble letting go of books... textbooks yes but every time I look at the others I just keeping saying "Gotta keep that one" :)

Sorry to hear you're still under the weather Susanne. Take care.

and thanks so much for keeping up with the Friday Fave 5! we appreciate you! <3

I'd love to be able to take photos like that, too!

Good for you on all your de-cluttering. I got rid of a bag of 12 of my nice tops that I don't feel look good on me anymore. It's a good feeling to see that stuff go!

I'm totally with you on the hot teas on cold nights!

I'm also thankful for warm scarves and gloves. They keep me nice and warm!

Have a great weekend, Susanne!

I looked at just a few of those photographs so far, but wow - amazing!

I haven't gone through a full room purge in a long time, but it's funny how once we get started, it continues to others rooms. Good feelings, and someone else can use those items.

Although our temperatures aren't as extreme as yours, I appreciate the warm spots in winter as well. I'm sure I'd appreciate them even more if I loved that far north!
