Friday's Fave Five #278

Welcome to Friday's Fave Five. I don't know about you but I'm ready to look for some favorite blessings, and it won't be the weather on this list!  Someone forgot to tell the Canadian weather forecasters that it is spring.  Spring has sprung so far ahead that we've yet to find it.  This has been one long winter even for us Southern Albertans who usually get plenty of warm chinook winds to help us get through winter.  But if I look there are always blessings to be found no matter the weather.  Will you join me this week?  Guidelines are here if you are new.

1.  Rediscovering a favorite perfume.  I love certain scents and there was one I haven't worn in a long time, Georgio Sensi.    Sadly I found out it's been discontinued but I'll certainly enjoy every drop I have left.

2.  Out of the mouths of babes.  My dayhome kidlets have provided plenty of funny comments for me this week.  Some of the things they think of to say just crack me right up.  Laughter is good medicine and they have provided a lot of it this week.

3.  The Gift that kept giving.  For Christmas I came upon Amazing Clubs and decided to take a chance and ordered my hubby 6 months worth of the Jerky Club.  The last week of every month he is shipped 3 bags of different gourmet jerkies.  He has loved this gift.  For six months in a row it's a gift he looks forward to arriving in the mail.  And he even shares.  Score on that gift idea!

4.  Strawberries.  Specifically strawberries dipped in sour cream and then brown sugar.  Oh my.  A heavenly dessert, for sure.

5.   This...
Plus this...

Equals...

A super easy, super delicious dinner put together with a side hot veggies.  Oh my, it was sooooo good.  Hubby stood at the stove after dinner and finished off every ravioli in the pot and I'm sure I might have seen him dip a finger to get a drop or two of sauce in the bottom.  Maybe.  It comes with a herb packet that the instructions say to use if you put olive oil on ravioli.  Because I was using the cream sauce and not olive oil, in a stroke of genius, I decided to use it on the veggies with just a small slosh of extra virgin olive oil (cooked brocolli, cauliflower, carrot combo).  Oh my goodness.  It was good.  And then wanting to live on the edge, I sprinkled a little on top of ravioli/cream sauce on my plate.  Delicious.  I got the ravioli at Costco in the freezer section, just in case you were wondering.

Well hopefully you are somewhere where spring has sprung and flowers are starting to poke their noses out of the soil.

What were your favorite blessings this week?

I hope you get some warm weather soon. Maybe those Chinook winds will pick up and thaw you out--send some south to Ohio for my daughter, ok?

Don't kids say the funniest things? My students think I'm funny but usually I'm just laughing at them.

Oh yummy!!! I don't usually buy processed pasta dishes but this one looks so good!!! Maybe I will splurge and get a package for one of those crazy, busy evenings we have next week! I could always just use the olive oil and herbs, right? 😄 young children are so much fun to work with...glad you had some laughter in the home this week! Spring hasn't really arrived here in NY yet but we do have warmer temps today and rain!!! Yay for no more snow!!

Laughter is indeed a good medicine. Glad you had plenty of it this week! I love that gift-giving idea; I'll check the website out. Our family likes that same ravioli from Costco.

Have a blessed weekend in the Lord!

I will have to look into Amazing Clubs. My husband likes jerky as a stocking stuffer, and we usually only have it on hand around Christmas, but this would be fun to do for a change.

Dinners that are easy plus delicious are winners!

We had another cold spell here (though not as bad as yours) and have a possibility of snow on Sunday, but we had a nice day or so in between. I hope we all do get some more springy weather before launching into the hot summer.

The Jerky Club sounds like fun! I'm glad your husband is enjoying it so much. :)

I think we've tried those ravioli from Costco, and they were outstanding. I'm glad to know about a tasty jarred Alfredo sauce, too. The last one we tried was awful.

Thanks for hosting!

Isn't it delightful when you find an easy combination of foods that makes everyone HAPPY?

Regarding discontinued perfumes... my brother often finds old favorites on eBay. He snagged several that my mom had thought were gone forever.

So glad you could find a gift your husband really likes!

We Albertans can provide plenty of documentation that global warming isn't. At least not here.

It is delightful to hear how kids view life!

You and me and weather Susanne . . . sigh! It's the never-ending winter.

That ravioli looks delish. We don't have Costco - I wonder if Superstore would have it?

We were chuckling when Josie was with us too - such cute little sayings and she's barely talking in sentences.

I love that club gift idea - I'm looking that up. It sounds as if it would be something my boys would enjoy.

Happy weekend - here's hoping a Chinook comes your way - and please send it East afterwards!
