Friday's Fave Five #256

Oh my goodness, is it Friday all ready?  Where did that week go?  Fast or not, nevertheless it's still Friday and that means it's time to look for our Favorite Five blessings of the last week.  Please join on in with us.  If it's your first time here you can go here for the guidelines.

1.  Movies with friends.  Last Friday Hubby and I went to see Gravity with our friends.  It was fun just to escape into a movie, another world for a couple of hours.  I love movies about space to begin with but this one was in 3D and really unreal how they did all the shots.  Hubby and I kept looking at each other saying, "I wonder how they did that".   Nice outing for the two us with good friends.

2.  Amazing service in church.  We had a special guest speaker at church on Sunday.  Jeff and Rowena Pessina from Philippine Frontline Ministries .  These two have been ministering in the Philippines for 28 years and reach out to all but they have an amazing outreach to the thousands of kids who live on the streets in the Philippians. His message was touching and challenging.  So good.

3.  Lost 2 more lbs.  'nuff said.

4.  Enjoying the Halloween leftovers.  Hate Halloween, but sure do like the leftover mini chocolates.  How I lost the 2 lbs eating those goodies this week, I'm not too sure.

5.  A clean kitchen.  A night where all the counters are cleaned off, the dishwasher is filled and humming and even the plastics are washed and out of the sink.  Feels good.

Well my blessings were pretty simple this week.  But I think I noticed them because my week has been hectic and they soothed my soul with their simple moments.  Blessings don't always have to be huge and shouted from the rooftops, they can come quietly and subtley too.  What were your favorite blessings from your week?

After all the hoopla of Halloween, it's nice to have a quiet week. However, I'd say that losing the 2 lbs is something to cheer about and so is a clean kitchen.
Have a great weekend, Susanne!

Makes me think that it is ages I haven't been to a movie. But there was nothing special on either.

A kitchen with everything cleaned and in its place is definitely a blessing!! And yay for losing 2 lbs. I have 8 I would like to use and that leftover candy sure didn't help me!! Loved reading at the link about the missionaries who visited your church. I've always enjoyed when missionaries visit!! Have a restful, refreshing weekend, Susanne!!

I love having a clean kitchen when I go to bed at night! It makes for such a better start to the next morning!

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a note on yesterday's post.

Quiet weeks are the best! I know what you mean about leftover Halloween candy: I like it, but certainly don't need it. :)

Congratulations on 2 lbs. lost, even with candy in the house!

I love that feeling in the evenings when the counter and sink are clear. It doesn't last long. :-) But it's nice while it lasts. If I can, I love to hold off starting the dishwasher til bedtime to include everyone's evening snack dishes and glasses, so the sink is clear first thing in the morning.

I've heard that movie is pretty intense. I'm looking forward to seeing it some time.

#2 sounds really great!

I agree that the "little" blessings are appreciated just as much as the big ones. Sometimes they get overlooked in the everyday hecticness, but it's nice to stop and realize them.

I'm glad Halloween is over, although I haven't eaten up all the chocolate yet. Yay to a clean kitchen!

So you're telling me your secret is Halloween candy? Not fair.

Wonderful to get a report from veterans serving in the field.

God's blessings come in all sizes and forms -- good to have the simple ones, too!

Barbara: The movie is 2 hours of non-stop intense! But the graphics are amazing and it really makes you wonder "What if there really was a mega accident at the space station?" I really enjoyed it.

The last movie I think I went to see was Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 3D! It was great! The clean kitchen before shutting down for the night is a wonderful thing! {{sigh}}

What? You put left-over Halloween candy and losing 2 pounds in the same Friday Fave list? how did that happen?? :)

Nice to get out with your hubby and friends for a movie night - we haven't done that for a long time.

A clean kitchen is always lovely!

Hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend Susanne. Thanks for hosting!

Congrats on losing 2 lbs.! Awesome!

I love a clean kitchen - I can't leave home unless mine is clean, which makes me late some mornings ...
