Friday's Fave Five #246

Updated with Linky!
Sorry everyone.  In the middle of making this post my son walked in saying he'd been in an accident on his motorbike so I was a wee bit flustered.  He seems fine, Praise God, and we'll send him to the doc this morning just to make sure!

Hi everyone.  Welcome to Friday's Fave Five, looking for and recalling our favorite blessings from the week.  Please join us.

1.  Day trip to a favorite place.  I know I wrote about it here but it definitely has to make my favorites list!  I won't rehash it all.  You can link on over if you'd like.  It says it all.

2.  A fun kid's movie.  I took one of the dayhome kids to a movie the other day.  We had plans to see one but changed our minds when we got there and went instead to "Turbo".  So cute.  I enjoyed every minute.

3.  Under inspiration from Jerri I've been sticking to a fitness routine.  It's been a struggle, I won't lie.  Between 2 separate knee injuries, I missed some time at the gym.  And even then I was going only 3x a week.  I needed to add something to that.  So I've gotten a pedometer and have been walking on my off gym days. Hopefully I can keep it going through the fall.
4.  Homemade ice tea made with vanilla coconut loose tea.  I don't know why I didn't think of it before but I've got all these wonderful loose teas that I can make into ice and avoid the loads of sugar they put into instant teas.  It was delicious and so much more refreshing without all the sugar, sweetened with just a bare touch of one of the honey flavors I got at the farmer's market.

5.  Being the proud owner of a chicken.  I got a sweet gift in the mail in the form of a bright yellow chicken.  No, no, not the alive, breathing kind.  But one who's going to help me with keeping my counters clean as I cook and I have to thank Nikkipolani for putting her up for a giveaway.   Thanks so much for your cute little gift !!

That little yellow chicken is the cutest thing! Hurray for you winning the giveaway.

You and Jerri will have to keep me accountable to walk or exercise every day. Like you, I'm getting in 3-4 days but I need to do it 7x a week!

Did Mr. Linky not load correctly? There's no place to link up.

Those fluffy clouds. Just so lovely, it makes me sigh. How nice that you can do it in a day trip!

Good for you for sticking to the gym and walk days. Hope it gives you energy for the rest of your day.

Hurray for safe chicken arrival ;-)

Love the chicken! I'm looking forward to my foot healing more so I can actually do some exercise. (Had a little minor foot surgery.) Your vacation looks and sounds so lovely.

I'll come back later to link up. Have a great week ahead, Susanne!

Yay for getting a pedometer! I love mine and it really shows how much more I need to do....my goal is 12,000 steps per day. I only get that usually when I'm hiking! lol. I love that little chicken! that's a cute idea. I also love that first pic of course and enjoyed reading about your trip. Have a great weekend...I'll be back to link up my FFF. it's done but i couldn't see the linky thing on here.

I saw that little chicken for the first time at nikkipolani's a while back. Such a great idea! I am glad you won it.

Your day trip and the movie sound fun.

I am planning to start a walking regimen next week when school starts and hopefully I can get into some kind of routine. I have some exercise DVDs and video games and benefit from them, but can't do all of any of them without some joint pain. So I need to start walking regularly and then supplement with some of these other things.

My fave five is here:

That chicken looks fun and a good kitchen helper. Vanilla coconut loose tea sounds so yummy besides avoiding sugar from store-bought food/drink.

Hoping your son is fine,
Hazel

So glad your son is alright! What a beautiful day trip! I have fallen off the fitness wagon! I hope to get back on soon! :)
Neat chicken! That would be sooo handy!

I hope your son is o.k.! That mountain scenery is just gorgeous! Best wishes on your exercising endeavor. I have not done well in that area this summer; it's too hot here for me to get very active. I haven't gotten my faves post up yet, but I will. :)

Thank God your son is okay!!! How scary!

Oh wow that picture is gorgeous!!!

I have been working out too! I walked 3 miles each day this week except tonight. I do it Monday-Friday so far.

What a cute chicken! hehe... I hate my cooking spoons laying on my counter or stove. I have a spoon holder I use.

Have a great weekend!
