Daybook ~ 6/4/12

Joining in with others at the Simple Woman's Dayabook.  Hosted over here.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... Some blue sky, some grey clouds.  I am so ready for some sunshine!

I am thinking... of everything on my plate this week.  Baby shower tonight, volunteer canvassing tomorrow, meeting on Thursday.

I am thankful... for good messages at church where you can really take away some good things and apply them to your life.

In the kitchen...Three cheese tortellini with tomato sauce, chicken burgers, bbq chicken drumsticks, pork tenderloin, chicken wraps.

I am creating...a plan for dayhome to get through the next week with a new babe starting who is not a very settled babe.

I am going...nowhere interesting this week

I am wondering... how it will go with this new babe

I am hoping...he settles in quickly

I am reading... "One More Sunrise" (very interesting premise so far), "Sacred Marriage" (took a couple of chapters to get into it but I think I'm on a roll with it now and getting lots out of it).  Trying to wrap up my goals for the Spring Reading Thing, don't know if I'll make it though.

I am looking forward to...  the baby shower tonight.  I love blessing new Moms.

I am learning... how not to be so reactionary, to step back for a moment.  It's been a long process and I am nowhere where I want to be with this.

Around the house... I need a deep cleaning done of the tv room downstairs.  Majorly.  The teenager and young adult who use this room and shall remain nameless, have not got a revelation of the meaning of deep clean.  They are more into the "just enough to make mom think we cleaned" mindset.

I am pondering... the story of Gideon and how God whittled down his army to a loyal 300 to defeat the Midianites.  (Judges 7:1-22)

 A favorite quote for today...

"Sacrifice has taken on such negative connotations that people fear being a "codependant" more than they fear being perceived as selfish"
Gary  Thomas, Sacred Marriage, pg 44

One of my favorite things... Sunday evenings.  Reading, watching tv, tea, relaxing before plunging back into the work week

A few plans for the rest of the week:   see above

 A peek into my day...

What a cute picture of your doggie!

I love Sunday evenings, too. After we get home from church we usually get a snack, talk with our oldest son out of state, and then just relax and read for the rest of the evening.

Had to smile about the users of the TV room and their idea of clean. :-)

Hope the new baby settles in well.

I had thought my SRT was pretty reasonable, but then one book is longer than I had thought it would be and harder to read, so I've gotten a little bogged down.

Loved reading your daybook :)

My Lola does that with toys all the time, it cracks me up :)

I love that picture of your dog! And your menu choices this week sound great. I also love to bless new moms at baby showers. I also love to see all the newest baby paraphernalia.

Oh, to be a happy dog in your home while everyone else is working hard! Hope the new child settles in and feels at home.

Oh, I hope the new babe IS settling in well. (Or that you get lots of peace and rest on the side.)

I TOTALLY hear you and am TOTALLY ready for some consistent SUNSHINE! I have great sympathy for you (and me).

Yes for good sermons in which the Word is accurately preached so that it does its work effectively! Amen to that one!
