Friday's Fave Five #156
Welcome everyone to Friday's Fave Five. Are you ready to look for your blessings from the last week? Then please share 5 good things from your week with us. I know not every week is the same and some weeks are just darn difficult. That is the beauty of this exercise. It makes us pause and look and sift through all the hard stuff and find those things that been good in our lives. I encourage you to give it a try whether your having a good week and it's easy or whether you're having a tough one and you have to go digging.
Personally I've had a really busy week, not bad but just really busy. So I haven't really paid attention and just let blessings go right by without really taking pause to notice them. I'm glad that this is forcing me to slow down and reflect.
1. Easy transitions. Last week I said goodbye to a beloved 3 year old in the dayhome as she goes to spend a wonderful year at home with her mom and new sibling. And a new little one has started this week. Sometimes these weeks can be very stressful, both on child, parent and on me, the child care giver. But this little fella has transitioned well, with only one little incident of clinging and crying that only lasted a few minutes. That is remarkable and I am so thankful. He's fitting in very nicely and his smile just lights up the room.
2. Easy returns. I love a store that makes returns easy. I had bought towels at the beginning of July and I think I even mentioned "new towels" as one of my faves back then. Well those lovely towels turned not so lovely when they wouldn't stop throwing fluff even after 4 or 5 washings. Drying off with them was not nice. They took them back no problem even though it's been 2 months and past their exchange policy and gave me a gift card in equal value. Which was just fine with me because I still needed towels so bought another brand that is much better, thank you very much.
3. Easy going family. Like I said, it's been a busy week and I'm so grateful for my family being easy going about it this week. They've pitched in when I've had to rush out the door in the evening and that really takes a load off, let me tell you.
4. Easy Sunday lunch. The Sunday School had a kick off fundraiser at church right after service. A hot dog lunch with all sorts of toppings and fixings was yummy. My whole family loves hot dogs and I didn't have to cook and we helped out the Sunday School. Win, win if you ask me!
5. Easy mornings. This has been the first week back to school and college and so far the mornings have gone fairly smoothly. My kids are not little anymore but that doesn't mean there is not going to be bumps and glitches with getting out the door in the mornings. Other than a small timing issue with the bathroom amongst three of us one day, it's gone not too bad. A fairly stress free morning is definitely a blessing around here!
What are your favorites from the week? Share them in a post and link on up. Please link to your specific post and not your home page. If you're not sure how to do that drop me an email and I'll try to help ya out. Otherwise, have a great weekend everyone!

Yes, I do appreciate the discipline of looking back and sharing five specific gifts. So thank you for your faithfulness in hostessing!
Glad your first days back in the swing of things is going well with the new guy and helpful family and smooth mornings!
We served hot dogs (and homemade chili, salad and dessert) at our church too last week. It was part of an evening at church which also included a talent show, and kids games and crafts.Ours was a win-win too.
I never would have thought of taking the towels back after that long of a time. I will keep that in mind.
I also wanted to thank you for posting about your decluttering projects. Since you mentioned it several times it has been in the front of my mind. As a consequence I've done a good job of decluttering the past 2 weeks. I still have a ways to go but I am feeling encouraged by your example.
As the grandma of a little one who is in daycare, I know the little problems of transitions. It sounds like your new one is going to bring sunshine to the whole group--that's sweet.
The transitions in your house sound like they went well too.
That's extremely seldom that a shop takes back already washed towels ! Good customer service !
I so appreciate smooth transitions...working with new children you never know what their triggers may be... Our church is having their Rally Day Sunday School kickoff this Sunday...with a Hot Dog lunch too...yep no lunch making for this mama! lol Have a great weekend!
I am so glad your transition went well, also that you have a child to replace the one that was leaving, I know how stressful that can be as well.
I wish my kids would eat hot dogs. Actually as I type that it seems so wrong, I know nutritionally they're better off, but there are times it would make things so much easier, Sunday School picnics being one of them. Fifty cent hot dog nights at the pool being another. Glad you had fun.
I love stores with good, sensible, customer-service related return policies. Makes so much sense, you're apt to return there again and again...to shop I mean. :)
Have a good week.
Returns are not usually practiced in in my part of the world. We can only wish for easy ones. Glad things went easy for you in a busy week.
Yes I love reflecting back, giving thanks and finding those special moments...hope your weekend goes as easily as your week! :)
Easy mornings is a blessing in itself! It's great that your store was understanding.
I love to think of you and your home and those sweet little ones from Mon. to Fri. I'm sure it's crazy but lots of fun, too. And what a blessing for their parents who have to be away from them!
Have a great week.
Glad that things are going smoothly for Susanne - I can remember the bathroom schedule we had to implement with 7 of us trying to get going in the morning! Yikes! it was tight. Fortunately most of them were boys or I don't think we could have managed.
Glad to hear the store took back the towels and you were able to get a new set. That's the kind of store you like to do business with.
Hope you have time this weekend to rest up.
Blessings
xo
oops - that's "For you" Susanne! :) Too early here on the east coast!
Sounds like a good week.
Glad your newest little boy transitioned easily.
What a great store that took your towels back. My daughter has wedding gifts piled up that she needs to return; hopefully it will be just as easy!
A hot dog lunch is my kind of fundraiser. :-)
Have a great weekend.
Glad you all transitioned well into the new routine along with the little ones. An easy meal and flexible helpful family is a blessing for sure. Have a great weekend.
So glad the new little one transitioned so well. It's hard to say good-bye to some, I know -- we still miss the little girl Mittu baby-sat in SC.
I hate when towels do that. I didn't know you could take them back after they've been used and washed. We did have some that finally stopped after about ten washings, but I would have saved money to go ahead and buy the more expensive kind. But I get both good and bad at the same store...will have to pay more attention to brand names.
I don't go for hot dogs often, but sometimes they really hit the spot, and somehow fundraiser ones taste better than home ones.
Glad you had a good week!
I love easy Sunday lunches ... it helps make the Sabbath truly a day of rest.
That first week of September you need to really get back into the routine again, and I'm glad everything went so smoothly for you this week!
I added my five blessing to my blog. Thanks for the great idea!
I'm so glad that your new comer is transitioning well - that is always stressful.
we're trying to work out our bathroom times in the mornings - let me just say some mornings are better than others.
Easy transitions are always a reason to be grateful!
I'm also very glad that I take the time each week to link up with your FFF. It's good to take a few moments to pause, reflect, and be thankful.

Liked your "Easy does it" five things.
Glad to hear your new little one at day care is fitting in so well. Sounds like you had a great hot dog meal for the church fundraiser. You are so right, no cooking and we love hot dogs too!!!!!!
