Friday's Fave Five #145

Welcome everyone!  It' Friday and time to reflect back on the week and look for our blessings.  Mine was a very busy week.  Getting a 16 year old ready to go away for 3 weeks leaves my head spinning with all the details.  But the blessings are still there to look for and appreciate.

1.  Sparkling clean windows. Hubby has been working hard give all the windows in this house a good scrub.  One just doesn't realize how dirty one's windows are until they are squeaky clean and all of a sudden you notice all sorts of stuff right outside your front window.

2.  Flower pots filling.  Now that we've actually had a few warm days in a row, the flowers are starting to take off.  The pots aren't looking quite so sparse as the the blooms are opening and filling in.  I just didn't have time to take pictures this week, but maybe next week I can get to it.

3.  Home grilled burgers.  Yum.  To me a home grilled burger is the best.  Filled with all my favorite fixings, it speaks summer loud and clear.

4.  All things Will & Kate.  We're back to show after show about Will and Kate's romance as the couple start their tour of Canada.  And of course, along with all the documentaries there will be the news coverage.  I'm seriously wanting to go to Calgary when they make a stop there next week but the thought of fighting the crowds just is not appealing anymore to me.  I'll probably have a better view watching it on tv.  But I would love to have a real picture that I actually took myself.  Either way, I'll just keep enjoying from my couch.

5.  The long weekend coming up.  Tomorrow is Canada Day and that means a holiday for us.  And a definite fave for me is that I  took Monday off too so an extra long weekend for me.  Yipee!

What have your favorites been this week?  Share with us, sign on to Mr. Linky and then try to do a little visiting too.  It's amazing how sharing our blessings, helps to build gratitude into our every day.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Canada Day to you! We'll be quietly celebrating the US Fourth of July down here. Oh, the flowers sound lovely! Summer is the best time, isn't it? Grilling outside, flowers, warmer weather.

When our windows are clean I always think we don't have the glass anymore, lol !
You are right with the crowed. That's why I didn't go to London for the wedding although it's only 2 h away with the Eurostar train. I also watched from my couch and took pictures on the TV ! this works very well so I had my personal pictures, without the crowd, lol ! Enjoy your day off ! we have national day on 21 July !

Sounds like a wonderful week! I know what you mean about the abrupt change of having clean windows. :)

Enjoy your long holiday weekend and the royal visit. I'm with you: avoid the crowds and watch the TV coverage.

Gattina, I never heard of taking pictures from the TV. Too funny. But also a great way to avoid the huge crowds (which I also try to do at all costs).

My flowers in the pots have stopped growing all of a sudden. So glad yours are filling in. Maybe by next week they will be better and I will also post a picture of mine.

Have a lovely 4 days at home enjoying your clean windows and home grilled foods with the family.

Happy Canada Day!

I need to get some flowers in the two containers have out front, righ now they are full of weeds, not very attractive.

Oh, don't remind me about windows!! That's one housecleaning item I rarely get to except the one above the sink that I look out of the most. This house has the kind that opens inside -- but I haven't tried it yet. Glad yours are getting sparkly clean!

Our flower pots are really taking off, too.

I love home-grilled burgers, too.

I'm with you on the crowds. LOL @ Gattina about taking photos on the TV!

Happy Canada Day! We have our Independence Day on Monday.

Happy Canada Day!

How nice to have clean windows, and even nicer when hubby does them for you.

Enjoy these summer days.

Clean windows!! And a hubby who does them? Sweet :) Actually mine helps too - expecially the outside ones where we need ladders.

We're finally getting some warm weather and I'm hoping my flowers will take off. They're still a bit sparce.

I'll try and get a picture of the royals for you Susanne. I should be able to get close. But we'll see.

Happy Canada day!

Happy Canada Day and also the extra day off! I took off today so I have a 4-day weekend, too, with the 4th on Monday.

FLowers, grilled hamburgers, mmm. Pleasures of summer. Can't get enough of them, can we? Good job on getting those windows clean. Have a good weekend, and week!

Yesterday I asked Jonathan if it was sacrilege on the weekend of the 4th of July to wish that I were a Canadian citizen.

I was watching the news clips of William and Catherine and then, of course, there is Prince Edward Island and I thought I just wouldn't mind crossing the boarder.

Hope you had a wonderful Canada day. It's nice to have a holiday every now and then. The burgers sound delicious too!

About the windows, I know what you mean about not realizing how dirty they are until you clean them, but I hate doing windows. You have given me the boost I've needed so I guess this week I will get out the hose and after doing the outside I will come in and finish the job.

I can't believe I'm just getting around to comments now! It's been so busy here!

I hope you had a nice holiday, and have been enjoying all things Will and Kate. =)

Thank you, as always, for hosting!
