Friday's Fave Five #115

Sorry everyone.  We had an emergency with the dog and I totally forgot about posting.  Here's the link.  Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

1.  We did not have to say good bye to our beloved dog as of yet.  The doc is hopeful with trying something thing out and we hope it works.  For now our little guy came home with us and for that I'm really thankful!

2.  Gotta love where I live.  -27*F(-17*F) for a week and then 2 days later a very fast turnaround to  2*C(36*F).  We get the fun of snow and cold and then just when we can't stand it anymore, here comes the Chinook.  A chinook can actually warm the temperature by up to 20 degrees within an hour.  The only thing is you have to like it windy, because a chinook is wind!  And it was howling yesterday but today is lovely warmth.

3.  Evenings off.  I actually had a few evenings with no obligations, nowhere to be, nothing that needing doing.  It was really nice.

4.  Fridays.  I am so happy it's Friday today and though I'm really like my job and love the kids that come here everyday, I'm glad the house will be peaceful tomorrow.

5.  Fast food.  Yes, I know fast food is not good, but after a tough day yesterday, I had cooked supper and our vet appointment was right at supper hour.  That pizza sure tasted good and I was so thankful not to have to think of something to cook.

Are any of you at Black Friday?  I can't even imagine.  We don't have that where I am.  Our sales like that are usually the day after Christmas.  I can't imagine shopping those sales either.  LOL.  Have a great rest of your holiday weekend.

Hope things work out for your dog! I know how sad it is to lose a family pet. Yikes – it’s very cold where you are. I’m looking forward to a whole day and night at home if I can pull it off. Which means I am not shopping any Black Friday sales. Too crowded for me. Have a great weekend.

It is hard to say "good-bye" to beloved pets so I am thankful along with you for the good news. I hope the new treatment stays working.

I don't shop the Black Friday or day after Christmas sales either. I'd much rather find the deals online.

Have a blessed weekend.

I hope all goes well with your doggie!
RIght now the turkey is in the oven and everything else almost ready to cook...we are having our American Thanksgiving today because yesterday we all worked in a soup kitchen and were totally blessed by the experience.....and yes, here in MA and NY we have Black Friday but I don't participate in that madness....ugh....

Oh, I'm sorry about the dog -- hopefully, things will work out well for you all. Your week sounds good otherwise with evenings free and warmer temps, too. Enjoy your weekend!

Oh, I know how you're feeling about your dog. My Chipper is 14 years young, and I worry about losing him.

That weather sounds crazy but exciting! Black Friday? Nope, I'll opt for calmer shopping days, I think.

Have a great week ahead, Susanne!

So glad your dog is all right for now. Our only family dog is getting up in years and I dread the day when something happens to her.

I am not at all into the Black Friday shopping, at least in public! I've scouted out a few deals online, though.

I enjoy fast food, too -- so nice after busy days. And days and evenings off are sweet.

Oh I am glad to hear about your dog.

And WOWEE it's cold there!

Hope the new treatment works with your dog.

I'm SO GLAD the extreme cold is gone. Sounds like we got colder than you by a bit and did not get quite as warm. It is -8 this morning, but I'll take that! At least it isn't warm enough to cause black ice problems.

How nice to have some quiet evenings 'off'!

Hope you can get out and enjoy some of this gorgeous weather this weekend!

No Black Friday for me. I'm just hangin' with my daughter and son in law, the two puppies and two kitties.

I'm glad for you that your dog is responding to the vet's remedies.

Shiver...even the Chinook is too cold for me. We get 'Santa Ana winds' blowing from the desert in the east toward the coast. Not only does it become very windy, it's HOT.

Okay this chinook stuff is all new to me. I couldn't believe it when the temp dropped overnight by 25 degrees. Wow that was something else!

I am sorry to hear about your precious dog. I hope he continues to get better.

Nope, you won't catch me out there shopping. It is just to crazy. I need my peace and quiet.

WOW! now that is cold! Of course we are freezing down here in east Texas with our chilly 28 degrees at night. I am such a wuss.

I hope it warms up some.

Susanne, you are luckier than lucky that you don't have Black Friday where you live. My girls and I braved the crowds, and I very nearly cried while looking for a parking spot. It was not a fun day (other than being with my girls). We all agreed NOT to venture out there next year.

I'm so glad to hear that your dog is okay. And, I think that sometimes fast food is just the right thing.

BTW, took your advice and tried the Creme Brulee latte at Starbucks. YUM!! But then, I knew if you liked it, I would, too;)

My thoughts are also with you in the hope that your beloved pet will recover. I tend to appreciate my pets even more than many of my family members (won't mention who)!

Happy Thanksgiving,

Maddy
