Friday's Fave Five #100

Party time! It's the 100th post of Friday's Fave Five. Well, if you really want to get technical last week was but I wasn't able to be here so officially I'm calling it as party day today. If you do a post today I'm going to enter you into a little giveaway to help celebrate 100 weeks of looking for God's blessings in our lives. How about a little gift certificate to Starbuck's so that you can have a nice drink on me and maybe raise it in a toast of celebrating? Sounds good to me.

So because we are celebrating FFF I'm going to break the rules, just for this week though, because goodness, the earth will stand still for this rule follower if I break too many rules. Instead of looking back over this last week for blessings, I, personally, for my post, am going to name 5 reasons why Friday's Fave Five has been a blessing to me over these last 100 posts. Please join in and celebrate with me whether you have been with me from the beginning or this will be your first time participating. If you need the details, just go here first. And then let's grab you favorite beverage, a snack and mill a bit and visit and party!

So in no particular order:

1. FFF has helped me to focus on the good things in life. Since starting FFF I find I am more aware of blessings, great and small, as they happen throughout my day. As I go through my day I find myself thinking "Oh that would be a good one for FFF". Some weeks are great and it is hard to narrow the good things down to only five, other weeks are downright tough and I have to look hard. But as I do I can always find some blessings woven in there somewhere. FFF forces me to look for them even in the hard times.

2. FFF makes me aware of God in my life and in the lives of those who participate. As I've done my lists over the 100 posts, I've become more aware of God being a Good God and desiring to bless us and uphold us.

3. Doing FFF posts has made me look at life more positively. How can I not be more positive when I teach myself to see blessings even in the rough spots. Don't get me wrong. When the times are tough, sometimes it is very hard to look back over the week and my attitude stinks and I don't feel like searching for anything good, but I believe it's become a bit easier now that I've been doing FFF. I realize how blessed I really am.

4. Meeting new friends who also desire to see the blessings in their lives. It's been so much fun to have old friends from Blogworld join in and get to meet many more people. I look forward to seeing your names each and every week come up on Mr. Linky and I miss you when you are not there.

5. Reading about your blessings. As I read and see how you've been blessed and how God has touched your lives, it uplifts me too. Sometimes I have real moments of revelation where I think "Oh, I never thought of that. Yes, that is a blessing!" I can't always get around to everyone on Friday's but one thing I really look forward to is a nice quiet Saturday morning, with my housecoat and cup of coffee and settling in and reading FFF posts. It's almost become a tradition. Saturday's are not the same without it.

I want to thank all of you for being a blessing in my weeks! Now go ahead and party away! Don't forget to sign your FFF post onto Mr. Linky!

I appreciate the positive spin you put on your life. You're instantly attractive! No wonder this meme is popular. :~D

Congratulations on you 100th post. I bent the rules a little this week too... you'll see why when you visit.

As always, thanks for hosting, Susanne. (I like your Saturday AM routine in your housecoat & slippers.)

Yes! I couldn't agree more. Participating in FFF--creating my list AND visiting others--is always a blessing to me. Thank you so much for hosting this wonderful meme!

Fun idea! I had already posted so I am going to save this and post why I enjoy FFF so much next week. I have only done 40 posts and I started in May of 2009. Looking back over them just now was such a treat!

Wow! 100th FFF that is fantastic. You are wonderful and have given me the opportunity to reflect. I am so glad to have stumbled upon the FFF only 9 short posts ago.

Creating new lists, reflecting over the week, pointing out positives, meeting new people ~ thanks

Although my FFF found a negative this week it is or has been a positive for me writing about it has not only given me the ability to forgive something terrible that happened but it was a way for me to help forget. Thanks again everyone who reads, writes, and comments. I have to run, get breakfast for guests, but I'll be back to read everyone later.

Well, I haven't been around for all 100, but I've loved every minute of FFF!

I love all FIVE of yours this week and would add a hearty "Amen!" to them all. The other thing FFF has done is to create a way for me to look back on my blessings, which can be really encouraging in tough times. I compose in a Word document first, so I have a running FFF all the time!

Thanks again, for causing us to look on the positive side and for introducing us to so many great bloggers!! Happy weekend, Susanne.

Thank YOU for starting the FFF! It has been a blessing to me for many of the reasons you mentioned. And Starbucks sounds good! We have one just down the street from the new house!

100! WOW!!! That is AWESOME!!! I haven't been around that long - but I've probably been READING some of them that long! I sO agree with ALL 5 of your reasons for loving and appreciating FFF... I used to do a meme back before FFF that was Sunday Seven - and it did the same thing. I LOVE how it makes me focus on the things God uses to DELIGHT me each week! (and if you stop by you will see I have been WELL delighted this past week!) LOL! Susanne... THANK YOU for hosting this DELIGHTFUL meme!

Susanne, Happy 100! I think I've been around from (almost) the beginning and I agree with every one of your faves. FFF has done those things for me too and I truly appreciate your organizing and hosting it every Friday.

Congratulations Susanne, and thank you for hosting this Friday event. Although I am just fairly new to FFF's I have appreciated the warm welcome and kind comments from your readers and see how we have all been blessed by one another. You are right...I find myself thinking the same thoughts: This could be a FFF item:)
I have enjoyed the experience even though I don't always participate.
Blessings,
Joanne

Happy 100 FFF! Thanks so much for hosting this meme, Susanne. I really regard it as my journal for the week, because I only want to look back and remember the positive things about how I spent my days.

I'm so glad you focus on looking for the good in things!

I'm thinking about going to blurb.com and having a book made of just my FFF posts ...

Also, I have met a lot of great blogging buddies participating in FFF. I have done a lot of memes, but this group is the best about visiting and commenting on each other's blogs.

Congratulations on 100 weeks! I've been here since January 2, 2009...when did you actually begin?

This exercise has been a huge blessing in my life as well....the most wonderful gift I've gotten through it has been new friends.

Thanks, Susanne, for continuing to host the FFF! YOU, yourself, are a huge blessing!

AMEN to your list Susanne! I, too, have found such blessing in simply looking for favorites each week regardless of what the week has held.

CONGRATS on 100!! WOW! You realize there are 52 weeks in a year so that makes it almost 2 years of FFF don't you?! You Go Girl!

Thanks for inviting us to join along each week. I don't always get a post up, but I guarantee you the habit of looking for blessings is becoming well established. Thank You!

And a Starbucks card?! Oh YUM! What an added extra blessing to FFF! :-)

Oh susanne! I wrote my post before checking this out!! Well, I listed 5 fave things rather than 5 reasons I like it or what I get out of it....but...I do so muchlike going back thru the week to find the blessings of God...sometimes it's people, things, or Scriptures....sometimes events, foods or quotes.....my post is up. And thanks for your email..i'll respond soon!!

Susanne said...

Faith: You didn't have to write 5 things you get out of it for this week's five. That is just what I chose to do because it was the 100th and it was my meme. You can write whatever you choose as your 5 favorites for the week as usual! :v)

Congratulations on your "anniversary" around here! Summer has been so incredibly busy and overwhelming that I haven't been around for FFF. Was out of town all last week so I'm catching up in Google Reader this week but I do plan on jumping back in with FFF this coming week. Why, you've given me five good reasons to do so!
