Friday's Fave Five #99

#99!? Oh my goodness! I can hardly believe it. Welcome to Friday's Fave Five! Join us as we look back over the week and find five favorite things that blessed us. If you need more information you can go here and then come right back!
Bold
1. This week's number one is most definitely my oldest daughter arriving for her two week stay at home. It's so nice to have her home for an extended visit. I really miss her. It's also really nice having all my kids all together. This year we actually co-ordinated a week of this visit together so that I have had this week off. So nice that she can come home and relax and just be and I don't have to worry about the dayhome kiddos waking her up or me being tied up working instead of getting to spend time with her.

2. Key Lime Tea Cookies. Oh my word. These were melt in your mouth goodness.

3. President's Choice Loads of Cherries and Chocolatey Chunks ice cream. They are not kidding when they say "Loads". This ice cream was so full of semi-sweet chocolate pieces and tart cherries I wouldn't have believed it had I not seen and tasted it for myself. My new favorite brand and of ice cream and definitely in my top five flavors. I hate to say it because two of my kids work for the D Q but it is just as good as a blizzard and you get waaaay more ice cream for your money. Sorry to my American friends but I think it's only available in Canada. But yay for us Canucks.

4. My sweet hubby who knows how to work his way into my heart. He came home with a gorgeous decorator vase I had been eyeing on the clearance table at his work place. He put it on the fireplace mantle and just let me find it. When I took the 5 love languages test it came up "Acts of Service" but I'm thinking that "Gifts" is right up there, too. And he knows it. LOL.

5. Reading. I've been on a reading roll this year. I've just finished my 26th book this year all ready. That is a new record for me. It's almost as much as read in a whole year last year. I've just really been enjoying reading and have been choosing that over television and whenever I can grab a minute. This year I seem to running across some really great reads so it's making keeping the reading roll going quite easy and enjoyable. I love reading. Now if I could just figure out a way to get paid for it. :v)

What have your favorites been this week? Do a post and then link onto Mr. Linky so that we can come and visit.

Woohoo, I'm first!
Have a great time with your daughter Susanne, I KNOW how much that means to you! That ice cream sounds like to die for, so sad it's only available in Canada, but good for you! Cookies, icecream reading and a wonderful gift from your husband. It all sounds so wonderful!

That's nice to spend time with your daughter !
I had quiet a lot of ice cream too when it was hot, but now I would rather drink a hot tea, lol !

The cookies sound good, but not the ice cream. I do NOT like fruit and chocolate together... (Seriously ppl chocolate should NOT be mixed with cherries/strawberries etc) and i don't like ice cream either haha.

I love when Mr. Hip does things like that for me. It's nice when it is something as beautiful as a vase but it's even nice when it's just a candy bar. My son has been home on leave from the coast guard for 3 weeks. It's been such a nice visit.

The ice cream does sound delicious!

I think that some actions fit more than one love language. Your husband's gift was very thoughtful!

Enjoy your visit, and thanks for hosting FFF!

That ice cream looks heavenly! I love chocolate and cherry together....yummy...funny..I wrote about ice cream too!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Reading over tv any day. Our tv has not been on yet this week...and we love it! We have a trip to the library planned for later this a.m. The girls and I are getting loads of reading done. I haven't read 26 bks this year. I've only read 15 thus far since January...but that's good, right?? Lol! loved your list!

Susanne, that ice cream sounds great! We get some President's Choice brand items at Sams and sometimes Walmart - maybe I can find some here in the USA.

Say if you ever find a way to get paid for reading books - please let me know! I could have been a millionaire by now ...

Kudos to your hubby for the surprise gift! Sounds like he's a keeper.

What a nice way for you hubby to give you a gift. Very sweet.

That ice cream looks like it would be my favorite flavor..... Chocolate/cherry is my weakness. I may just have to break down and go to Superstore - if only for ice cream. (I don't do that store, if I can help it)

Glad you are having a good visit with your girl!

Such a lovely list. Enjoy these days with your daughter. Mine is in Paris right now, and some time in the future will be living there permanently (sigh). It is so lovely to get to spend time with them.
Have a blessed weekend.

How great that you and your daughter have vacation time together. Enjoy every minute:)

My heart dropped when I read about the ice cream.. . I don't like fruit in my ice cream. Nothing gets in the way of my chocolate! Can we still be friends? lol

Your hubby sounds like a gem!

So glad you got to be off for some of the time your daughter is here!

That was so thoughtful of your hubby.

I do tend to read more in the summers when there is less "must-see" TV. Love it!

#3: Looks so good! Love the packaging, too.

26 books is amazing, my friend, even for you!

Added you to my Google home page, so I hope to be more regular here.

Susanne, super impressed at how much you've been reading but then you gave your secret - read vs. TV - which might explain why I've gotten less done so far this year. Need to follow your example!

Wow, 99!!! You are one of those faithful few in the Blog World. Love you for that!

I'm glad you are enjoying time with your family. Our oldest just enrolled at the local community college for dual credit...I feel these years at home slipping quietly by and I am trying to enjoy them!

Love,
Katherine

Wouldn't that be great...to actually get paid for reading? I'm with you about TV. Until all my shallow reality shows start up again, I'm not watching TV at all.

Survivor. The Bachelor. American Idol. I'm ready for the return of quality TV! LOL

How nice to have your girl home for two weeks. I know exactly how you feel. :)

I've been eyeing up that ice cream every time I go to the grocery store! And now that I know it's good, I'm totally going to get it when I go grocery shopping this week.

that PC icecream is also loaded with poisons, i encourage you to read the label and educate yourself as to the affects of the ingredients.

Sorry Anonymous, if you feel the need to tell me to educate myself on ingredients, then at least have the guts to leave your name.
