Friday's Fave Five #83

Welcome to Friday's Fave Five. If you need info it's here. I almost put my snowflake button back up. Almost. But I thought that was just tempting fate a wee bit too much. I absolutely don't want a repeat of this anytime soon. Like at least until next January. Or maybe never. So we will stick with the spring one.

1. An unexpected day off in the middle of the week. And with no electricity to do chores, that meant a whole 3/4 day of reading and napping and a whole lot of nothing.

2. Electricity. You don't know how much you rely on something until it's taken away. I'm definitely liking and am thankful for my electricity.

3. Friends who pray with you and for you. I really, really appreciate my ladies group who are ever ready to pray for each other whenever there is a need.

4. Playing Scattegories with the kids. Haven't played this game in awhile but right now it's Teen Girl's favorite so I played a few rounds with her and Son. Lots of laughs ensued.

5. Dried Kiwi's and Pineapple. What a nice treat they are. Just a couple of slices and it settles a sweet craving. Yum. Better than turning to that handful of Cadbury Eggs or Licorice Allsorts. Not that I'll never eat those but these two cut that craving nicely.

What were your favorites from the week. Do up a post and link on to Mr. Linky linking directly to your post, not your home page. And then I encourage you to visit around. It's really uplifting to read other's favorites and it's nice to meet new friends, too. Have a great weekend everyone!

I saw your photos of the spring snow storm. It's just not fair! I'm glad you made it through the power outage okay.

I love dried apricots and dried apples. Actually, any dried fruit is yummy!

Have a great weekend!

Y'know, if you'd wanted a day off, perhaps there are easier ways to do it than a blizzard!! I think your #3 is terrific. It's so exciting when we together can see God working.

I also appreciate having friends who are prayer warriors. I enjoy playing games with my kids. Tonight our family had fun playing Snorta. I prefer fresh kiwi and pineapple :).

Have a blessed weekend!

I was shivering when I saw your snow. Our weather is a little cooler than it has been but no white stuff!!

Our power comes from the mainland so we tend to lose it every now and then. It's miserable if you don't have a heat source - we have a wood stove so that makes losing the electricity not so hard. A lot of Islanders have their own generators.

Never had dried kiwi - I'll have to look them up.

Happy weekend Suzanne!

I like how you included electricity and NO electricity in your list. Sometimes we don't know what we've got until it's gone, do we? But without it you did not need an excuse to put your feet up! LOL!
Dried pineapple and kiwi? Sounds delicious AND healthy!

Have a great weekend Susanne!

It's quite an opposite weather we have here from yours. I was about to complain about Bangkok's 36c when I saw New Delhi's 44c! Electricity is indeed helpful in both cold and hot temperatures. Family games seem to be more exciting than just plain games, don't they? I enjoy dried fruits too. A great weekend to you!

Wow - no electricity! That takes me back to our post-hurricane days. Those were quiet times. After 12 days straight we were ready for electricity, but it was kind of nice while it lasted.

Friends who pray are such a blessing.

Hope it warms up for you. Happy weekend!

Have a wonderful weekend..my list is up!

I just cannot believe all that snow in April! :)

I've always looked at those snow days as a gift. There's nothing you can do about it, so relax, read and nap. Bliss!

I am often -- but probably not often enough -- so thankful for electricity and all it provides. It is nice that the day without it afforded some reading and napping time, though. And praying friends -- what would we ever do without them?

It's my first time doing this, though I have enjoyed it often on other's posts!
I also like your contrast of great with/without electricity...

Hope you have a great, Spring weekend!

Great favorites Susanne. Glad you embraced the no electricity with one of your favorite things to do. Praying for each other is such a good thing. I hope you have a great weekend...and that it doesn't snow again till the end of the year!!

I LOVE Scattegories! And unexpected days off to read and to nap.=) (That's my dream day, actually!)

Thanks for hosting this on a weekly basis. I really do appreciate it and have loved participating. This was one of those weeks where I rather NEEDED to do it and I'm grateful to you again for the "nudge."

Friends who pray with and for you can really make a lot of difference, huh? I've experienced that this week myself, and SO appreciate it.

I love Scattergories, too, but haven't played in awhile. Hope you have no more electrical outages soon, but they do make you slow down which can be good thing.

Have a great weekend!

What a great list of things to be thankful. I am glad that your power came back on and it is nice to spend time with your children.

I could not make it without my prayer warrior friends.

Do you like Alsorts? Those are my favorites or a bag of black NIBS.
I'm sure you would have a different idea of a day off then without electricity.
Isn't it perfect to have a prayer group? I have one too and I love it.

I am always so thankful for electricity after a power outage! I need to remember to give thanks for it even when it's been working!

I was just reading about dried strawberries today. Never thought about dried kiwi! Good point that eating dried fruit keeps you away from candy. I should try that.

oh ack to the snow! We are surprised we didn't get one in MN...yet!

Hope you have a great week

Oh, my! Once spring has arrived, I'm not one to want to see snow creep back into the picture. So glad that you got your electricity back. At least you always know that the snow will melt quickly with these late snowfalls.

What an expected weather change you've just experienced! Hope things warm up for you soon. Love you list ... especially your reminder of everyday conveniences as blessings and the wonderful way you chose to see the 'good' in all things that happened ;-)

Oh we had no electricity quite a few times this spring due to flooding and high winds. I know exactly what you mean. But, God giveth and God taketh away. Like you said, no power stinks but no chores is kind of nice treat. It makes you slow down. Thank you for redoing the link. I don't know what I did wrong. It was really early when I posted yesterday.

I love that you found blessing and thankfulness in the lack of electricity. So much better than complaining about our hardships!
