Have you entered the book giveaway here yet? If not, it's not too late. I'll be drawing tonight. Don't forget to answer the question and make sure I have a way to get ahold of you.
This weekend is just going to be a quiet, low-key weekend around the Living To Tell household. The kids are gone on a youth conference and get to see their big sister this weekend. So that's really nice especially for Tia who is really missing having Kay around. Tia gets to stay with Kay for the whole weekend which made her really happy.
Along with the kids I sent Kay a care package. How could I not? LOL. This one was really fun. But in the craziness of trying to get everyone out the door with everything they were supposed to have I forgot to take a pic of the care package. It was a good one though, and Kay loved it. Amongst the usual toiletries, I sent her a few packs of instant mashed potatoes (which she loves), the movie "Sahara", grandma sent her a pack of halloween chocolates, I sent her favorite "Mini Eggs" (her fave now in Christmas colors of all things), a gift certificate to a hair salon, and various other things.
But the most fun thing I sent her that I knew would just rock her boat was a lighted 3' foot Christmas tree, a pack of little wooden decorations and little bells. This is my girl who would put the tree up in November if I would let her, who loves the whole Christmas decorating thing. That little package was a complete surprise to her and in her text words "It made me happy and I can hardly wait till December to put it up!!" Which made this mama happy.
So now I'm off to do the weekend cleaning thing, the grocery shopping thing, the chore thing. And maybe in the midst of all these "things" I'll make a pit stop at Starbucks and enjoy what I imagine Kay's face was like when she opened her package.
