Is This a Hint?

Okay, maybe I need to take a hint. How much more clear can it be? I've talked about my baking woes and misses as evidenced by this post last week. And now look.

Just look at that. It's my lovely cookie jar my son got me for mother's day. That is the bottom of it sitting on the right. The rest of it is on the left (upside down). See the lovely, jagged edges? The ones that will take your fingers off if one is not careful? Is that how a cookie jar should be? No, I didn't drop it. No, I didn't smash it against the wall in frustration. Although, I might of felt like it, when the peanut butter cookies where turning out to be crispy brown disks. But it was just a fleeting thought. Here and gone in a millisecond. Ahem.

Anyway, you want to know what happened? Here is the sad truth. My son took the lid of the jar. To get one of them sad, brown discs. Yes, that is the horrendous act that resulted in this. The action of taking off the lid off separated the jar.

I really get the feeling something is trying to tell me something. Like, maybe, to buy stock in the Christie company. Or maybe, stick to chicken or beef. It's what I know. Sigh.

YIKES! Sounds like everyone is ok! WHEW.

I think I'll just continue to stick with my unsightly ziploc gallon bags for cookies instead of purchasing a jar! WOW!

I'm completely sure it was the jar and not YOU!

I vote for the jar too Susanne. I'm sure your baking abilities are just fine. However, I have opted for Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies this week. So much better than I could come up with :-)

I am sure it is the jar!!

This is why I stick to plastic clear cookie jars...I found them dirt cheap at Target....my kids just need to remember to close the lid TIGHTLY so the cookies don't get stale......(not that cookies last long enough to really get stale anyways around here!)

Oh no. Your pretty jar! I can't believe it did that but thank goodness he didn't get cut when it happened.

I swear, I wish I lived in your neighborhood. We'd get your baking woes straightened out fast. For the life of me I can't figure it out. But you know, there are some things I can't cook either. You should see what happens when I do the grilling outside. Completely inedible, every single time. Especially chicken. :-)

That is just so sad... And just to be onery, I'm going to say that it broke most definitely because you placed inferior cookies into it. You broke its heart clean off at the elbow.

(Before I get the razzing, know that Susanne and I are VERY GOOD FRIENDS and I'm just kidding. Susanne, I'm sorry that I mocked you in this time of sorrow. There are y'all happy now? Good.)

Sometimes a jar is just a jar, sweetie! And it's a good thing that your boy wasn't hurt.

On, no! That's too bad. But I really don't think it's an omen or anything. :-D

I bought a beauitful house-shaped cookie jar years ago, but when my kids got old enough to get cookies for themselves, I was afraid they'd break it, so I keep cookies in...ziploc bags.
