Book Review ~ Coral Moon

"Coral Moon" by Brandilyn Collins

This is book #2 in Brandilyn's Kanner Lake Series. Back are the characters who were introduced in "Violet Dawn". Paige and Leslie have now become room mates and good friends and enjoying getting back to normal after the last murder sent the town reeling. Leslie is persuing her journalism career and enjoying the fame that it has brought her. That is until she goes out to her car one morning and finds the body of a beloved member of the Kanner Lake community.

Why was this left in her car? Who did it? Is it something personal or does it have something to do with the new resort hotel that is trying to move into their quiet little town? Questions build as spiritual forces move in Kanner Lake.

Brandilyn brings a fast paced, suspense-filled page turner. Bringing in the element of spiritual forces at work, from the believers compelled to pray as they feel the town overcome with darkness to naive dabblers in the occult who have no idea the evil they have unleashed upon town, to the protaganist with the abusive past who is now getting strange messages, this is one book that is hard to put down.

But I have to admit, put it down I did. Each night as soon as everyone else was in bed. I, know, I'm a big chicken but when it came to the spiritual forces and the occult, I needed company in the room when I was reading it. There were parts in the book my heart was literally pounding. If you like page turning suspense you will enjoy this book. The characters are realistic and relatable and will draw you right in. And hey, there's even a bit about blogging in the story.

I like to read these kinds of books, as long but I can't read them at night! I am almost on winter break and I can't wait until I can read something other than a text book!

I don't blame you for not wanting to read without others around or awake....

Sounds suspenseful, but too much for me. I used to be in the occult before salvation, and don't like to be reminded. Happy reading.
I like your Thanksgiving post.

OMG Susanne, as good as it sounds (you ALWAYS pick the good books...) I cannot - cannot do scary. Period.

Have you read "Informed Consent"? I am currently reading and it is excellent!

You won't believe this. I'm right in the middle of this very book. I found it at my used book store and remembered your review of the Kanner Lake series. Obviously, I'm reading them out of order but I couldn't wait to dive in.

Very strange book. The red sneakers and the 3-inch long coarse white hairs are freaking me out. :-)

I read this book earlier this year. I read most of it on the plane ride out to CA in March.

Crimson Eve is the best book out of the whole series and it's not like Coral Moon at all.
