I'm joining in again with Peach this week for Thursday Thanks Tank. It is good to give thanks to the Lord for all the good things in our lives.
~I'm thankful I got to hug my family and hold them close for one more day. We never know the number of our days. This has been a hard week around blogland with the passing away of Amy Wilhoite. Amy was a beautiful young lady who was diagnosed with leukemia in July 2006. In the past year she has taken us through her journey as she fought with everything she had all the while hanging on as tightly to her Lord as she could. She fought with grace and faith and will be remembered with a legacy of her great love for the Lord even during the valleys of her fight. And then my friend Katherine's 21 year old nephew died in an accident this week. My heart goes out to her and her family this week. Please pray for these precious families as they grieve and remember thier loved ones this week.
~I'm very thankful for my hubby. He's been faithful for many a year getting up early to prayer for his family each day before work. He get's off work at3:30 and in spite of being up from before 5 a.m. runs errands for me when I need them as I don't get off until after 5 o'clock. What a blessing that is.
~I'm thankful for being able to work with Jules to give my site a little, ok, a total makeover. I loved my other design but just needed something fresh and Jules was just wonderful. Her patience in talking me through and teaching me a few things about design really blessed me. It can't be easy working with someone like me who can't make up her mind and then second guesses herself to the point of distraction. Thanks again, Jules. And have I said how much I looooove my new look!
~I'm thankful for my wonderful mom who just keeps blessing us with wonderful produce from the garden. In spite of living by herself she still plants a garden so that the kids can enjoy fresh from the garden goodies each year. What a blessing. Even my dayhome kids love "Nagymama's" carrots the best.
~Believe it not, I am thankful for our PVR. That's Canada's version of the DVR or TiVO. I love that I can fast forward through commercials and inappropriate things in shows. I love that I'm not tied to having to be at home to watch a favorite show but can record it and watch it later.
~I'm thankful that I live in a country where books are so readily available both to buy and borrow. In getting my books lined up for Katrina's Fall Reading Challenge, it made me think of all the children around the world who do not have any access to books at all. We are so blessed here in North America.
If you'd like to join in you can use the link above to go to Peach's and let her know so we can come over and read what you are thankful for this week.

I loved reading this list!
I agree, it's felt kind of heavy in blogland this week. What a terrific husband you have! Willing to do the MOST important thing (pray for his family) and then the running of errands as well. My husband is like that and I count is such a gift as well. Thanks for reminding me today!
LOVE your blog's new outfit!
Love the new design!
Your list is a sweet reminder that I too have so much to be thankful for.
Loved your list, love your new site too... and love tivo!

Always, so much fodder for gratitude. . .
I found this woman's perspective on Amy's homegoing very encouraging. It's worth the read.

On this Thursday I'm thankful for this visit!
A wonderful list - so much to be grateful for!
And prayers for Katherine and her family. What a terrible tragedy.
I absolutely loved your Thanks Tank today Susanne. It has been so hard around blogland...and though it had been a long time since I had visited Katherine, would you believe I had just happened over there this week after months to find that news...It does make you know that every precious day with those we love is so important!
And I had been thinking about Fall into Reading, but hadn't been by to check on that...I'll have to pop over!
Have a wonderful Thursday, dear Susanne!
Thank you for the heads up about Kathryn's nephew, Susanne. I didn't know. So, so sad.
Husbands likes ours are truly a blessing. Mine's very good about running errands when I can't get away from home, too.
I loved this list. I think I remember Amy; I'm going to go to your link.
Loved your list, LOVE your new look! Your hubby sounds like a gem!
It has felt sad this week :(
But good to count our blessings and praise the Lord.
I love your new look. So beautiful! Such a great list, too! I still don't have tivo, but I rarely watch tv so I guess I can wait. What a sweet hubby you have!
Okay. Love this idea! I need to jump on board. I need to remind myself of the things I need to be thankful for.
This is a great list, especially the part about holding our families a bit closer this week.
And I had no idea that Katrina was starting the reading challenge this week. I've been waiting months for the reading to begin!!! (Well, not waiting as in I haven't read anything, but you know what I mean.)
Your new design is lovely Susanne. See - you are very creative!
Your list is wonderful. It is so important to love and cherish and be thankful for our loved ones. It has been a really difficult week.
It's also great to have those special blessings from the Lord.
I loved your list...we are so blessed....we just need to take the time to count them.....thanks for reminding me.....have a great weekend.

Yeah, I can relate. :-) I'm glad I'm not the only one!
