Come On In!

Welcome, Welcome! Thanks for stopping by on your bloggety Christmas Tour of Homes. Wasn't it great of Boomama to host this again? You can go on over there to add your home or to jump in on the fun!

Please ignore the nice pile of papers that my son delivers. They are a daily fixture on our step. I wish I could figure out how to make them look like they are part of the decoration.

Here's my deal of the year. A whopping $5 at Shopper's Drug Mart on clearance. I wanted a wreath for years and this satisfied my cheapness, penny pinching frugal budget.

Coming into the living room our stockings hang. Why not from the fireplace mantle? Glad you asked. Because the 6 little rugrats that run thru my place each day will not leave them alone. So up they go. The patchwork ones are my kid's. Notice teen girl's hanging off the lamp in the background? Nice designer touch don't you think?

You've seen this one but seeing it's my favorite thing in the room here's my nativity.

My tree, day and night

And just for Barb, here is my designer barricade that is used during the day when I have 6 kidlets running around. It's either this or everytime we have a potty need or diaper change I shuffle all 6 into the bathroom with me. Notice the nice touch of the Thomas Tank engines. Guess that big screen comes in handy after all. I think I'll let hubby keep it.

Part of my snowman collection. The house is a tealight house and when lit the windows and open door glow. My fave. There is a "look with your eyes not your fingers" rule on the house which the kids totally get but they can't leave the stockings alone. Go figure. The snowman coasters were a gift from my sis. Moving on the the kitchen now.

I used to collect stacking Russian Doll thingy's. This is one of the only ones I kept. It sits on top of the fridge.

And my little snowman on my table. He amuses me. He's an icecube roasting marshmallows over a fire. When you turn him on the fire flashes yellow and he flashes blue. Another gift from my sis.

And to end just some more of my snowman collection.

Thanks for coming by. It just occurred to me I forgot to have my little red cup (turned around this time to show the snowman) follow us around like in the last tour. Ah well, maybe next year! Merry Christmas!

I just love your green front door, Susanne, and the wreath is so pretty. I love your tree, too, but your barricade cracks me up. I don't know how you handle having six little ones around all your decorations this time of year. The one little one I have is a challenge!

I love your snowman collection. What a nice home. So comfortable looking. Merry Christmas my friend.

Your front door is gorgeous! I love that green door and the wreath is perfect. Your tree is beautiful too and the barracade just cracks me up. Does it really work? Don't they try to climb over it? I can't imagine having six little ones around my house this time of year. Just the one I do have is a big enough challenge.

Your snowman collections is adorable. What a lovely home, Susanne. Wish I could just drop in on you. Merry Christmas my friend.

Hey, Susanne! Love the tour of your home - and thanks for visiting mine! The other greenery you see in my house is magnolia leaves - we live in Alabama. The rest of the greenery is holly, cedar, and pine, and I'll bet you have plenty of those in Canada!

Susanne~your home looks beautiful, & I admire how pretty your tree looks even with little ones running around. Mine cannot be blocked off because my boys are such climbers, but they have done better than I thought they would! Your snowman roasting marshmallows is so unique. I love it.

Your snowman collection is awesome! And I escpecially apreciate the barricade. Amazingly my 2 year old has left the tree alone.

Susanne, This was so fun! I collecte snowmen, too, but I liked them before everyone went ga-ga. I still don't have an extensive collection, though. Your Russian dolls intrigue me; they remind me of dolls from Kazakhstan, which was formerly part of the USSR, which I've been to a couple of times. And, although I'm embarrassed to admit this, I didn't realize you have SIX kids! OH my Gosh! How do you find time to blog? BTW, I still can't access my blog.

Susanne it all looks gorgeous! I love the snowmen :)

I Loved your home, and LOVED the way your tree looked lit at night. Oh my, how beautiful in that Bay Window! You talked about 6 little rugrats, do you do daycare? I just wondered because I am a daycare provider myself and know what it is like to always have toys and books scattered around (mostly from my own son, but "my" other kids like to make messes too!) Oh, and btw I've always been fascinated with Russian Nesting Dolls, yours is very unique and special :)

So warm and inviting! Thank you for sharing! My favorite is your nativity! It is awesome! *Smile*

How do you keep your kitty from climbing up the tree?? That's what I need to figure out . . .

Your home looks lovely - very Christmassy and cozy!

Do you have any snow? Ours is gone but we're expecting some tomorrow.

I alway wanted a set of those stacking Russian dolls. You are so ready for Christmas. Looks like it will be a green xmas here in Atlantic Canada. YAH - I'm not much of a snow-bunny.
